Shawn Mendes is back with new music, this time for a cause.

The 24-year-old musician announced the release late Thursday afternoon (June 8), just hours before dropping the single, “What the Hell Are We Dying For?

For the song’s artwork, Shawn used a photo of the smoke-filled, orange sky in New York City, which has been caused by the wildfires up in his home country Canada.

On Instagram, Shawn shared that he and his friends just wrote and recorded the whole song within the last couple of days.
