'The Summer I Turned Pretty' Author Jenny Han to Make Movie For Adults with Amazon
Jenny Han is leaving her young adult bubble for a new feature catered to adults!
It was revealed this week in a story with TIME, that the Summer I Turned Pretty author and showrunner will be working with Amazon Studios, where she has an overall deal, on a new movie for a more adult audience.
Jenny‘s books, movies (To All the Boys) and TV series (XO, Kitty, The Summer I Turned Pretty) mostly center on teens and are for a younger audience, but she’s branching out.

According to TIME, the new project is envisioned as “a homage to classic, Nora Ephron β90s romantic comedies, featuring actors of color in the leading roles.”
βItβs a New York story about a writer, as many of my stories are,β Jenny says.
The Summer I Turned Pretty‘s Karen Rosenfelt will also produce alongside Jenny.
Season two of The Summer I Turned Pretty kicks off NEXT Friday (July 14), while a second season of XO, Kitty is in the works.
