While some liked his look on the red carpet, there were others who didn’t — and the 28-year-old Olympic bronze medalist figure skater has the perfect response to them all.
“They’re probably boring,” he told Access Hollywood. “It feels awesome. I think the whole point of the Oscars and of fashion in general is that you can go out there and express yourself. You can do something that’s a little bit different.”
He adds, “I know that I wanted to put a little twist on something you see at the Oscars. I think that’s what fashion is all about.”
Adam actually worked with designer Jeremy Scott and put two different ensembles together, to make them into one.
“I saw this blazer with the straps and then he had another outfit that had this harness and I asked him if we could put everything together — and it paid off! I felt amazing on the red carpet.”

Rachel and Chris Overton won the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film for The Silent Child, which was based on her own experiences as the child of a parent who became deaf.
“It’s a really surreal moment. We felt really calm beforehand…‘Two categories before ours we felt, ‘Oh God, this is really happening. This is awful.’ And then, as the names are called out, we heard The Silent Child and thought, ‘Oh my God that’s actually us, it’s not nominations, we’ve won.’ It’s so surreal,” Rachel shared after the award show.
Rachel actually delivered her acceptance speech in sign language, and apologized for it being a bit shaky.
“I made a promise to our six-year-old lead actress that I’d sign this speech. My hands are shaking so I apologize.”
An EGOT honor is a distinction given to those who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award — and Robert, has done it twice!
Robert actually won his first Oscar, also with his wife, for the song “Let It Go” from Frozen, and then added two Daytime Emmy awards for his work on the animated children’s series Wonder Pets.
His three Grammys are for Best Musical Theater Album (Book of Mormon), Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media (Frozen) and Best Song Written for Visual Media (“Let It Go”); and he’s actually won every Tony he’s been nominated for too; three in total.
Pretty impressive, right? But, then you can add that Robert is the youngest person ever to complete an EGOT, and the quickest to win all four awards — 10 years.
