Alek Skarlatos heads out of the DWTS studios with a smile on his face after practice in Los Angeles on Wednesday (November 18) and Thursday (November 19).
The 23-year-old soldier spoke with Fox News after the recent show and opened up about his patriotic waltz with partner Lindsay Arnold.
“We wanted to do something patriotic and I think it all came together pretty well. I liked it,” Alek shared. “Having my whole family here [to watch] was great. My grandpa came out for the show tonight, and Mike Moustakas [of the Kansas City Royals].”
He added about being partnered with Lindsay, “I’m so lucky. I’m so glad I have Lindsay as a partner and she took me this far.”

The 23-year-old soldier took on three performances with partner Lindsay Arnold, including a sizzling Argentine Tango trio dance with Emma Slater.

Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold wow the crowd once more during Dancing With The Stars on Monday night (November 16) in Hollywood.
The duo performed three routines – a Waltz, Argentine Tango, and Cha Cha – which earned them 57 points from the judges, for the entire night.

Earlier in the day, it was announced via TMZ that Alek will make a cameo in the upcoming military comedy, Range 15, alongside William Shatner. Congrats to him!

Alek Skarlatos goes to meet the fans after dance practice on Saturday afternoon (November 14) in Los Angeles.
The 23-year-old soldier met up with partner Lindsay Arnold and Emma Slater for tonight’s all-new Dancing With the Stars.
Alek and Lindsay will perform a waltz to “America The Beautiful” performed by the house band Ray Chew Live, with trio partner Emma. Earlier in the season, Alek and Emma were partnered together for Switch-Up week.
Later on, they’ll do a cha-cha dance off against Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson.

Alek Skarlatos meets up with his pro partner Lindsay Arnold for another day of dance practice on Friday afternoon (November 13) in Los Angeles.
Team Takedown worked on their first dance, plus their trio dance with Emma Slater for next week’s DWTS show, ahead of hearing about the attacks on Paris.
“Thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Paris today. #Paris #terrorism #France,” Alek wrote on Instagram. If you didn’t know, Alek was one of three friends who stopped an attack on a train while vacationing in Paris earlier this year.
Emma added, “My thoughts are with you Paris. This is just devastating.”

Alek Skarlatos and Carlos PenaVega owned the dance floor on on Dancing With The Stars on Monday night (November 9).
The two guys performed their individual dances with pro partners Witney Carson and Lindsay Arnold, before coming together for a combo dance with inspiration from Queen’s “We Will Rock You” show on Anthem of the Seas.
Later on in the show, Carlos‘ wife, Alexa, was eliminated from the competition with her partner, Mark Ballas.
The next day, while Carlos headed to New York with Alexa and Mark, Alek and Lindsay hit the dance studio to prepare for the semi-finals.
