Alessia Cara has a cool story behind her new single!
The 22-year-old songstress opened up about “Out of Love” while stopping by Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday evening (January 8) in New York City.
During the show, Alessia explained that the song helped her friend to win back his ex.
“It was inspired by a friend’s break up. I know that sounds like a lie, but it really is about a friend! It was the only song I wrote that wasn’t about me,” Alessia explained.
She continued, “Basically my friend was going through a break up and asked me to write a song to help him express himself to his girlfriend…and he played her the song once it was done and now they’re back together!”

“I would say trying not to be mean to myself and be a little more confident because every time somebody compliments me, I’m like, ‘Nah that’s not true.’ But from now on I’m going to try to train myself to say thank you and just leave it at that,” Alessia explained.

Sabrina Carpenter perfectly rocks orange while attending Power 96.1′s Atlanta Jingle Ball held at State Farm Arena on Friday night (December 14) in Atlanta, Ga.
Sabrina recently opened up about moving on from the Disney Channel and the pre-conceived conception of Disney stars having a scandal.
“Well I’m planning my scandal so that it happens efficiently!” she joked with Notion magazine.
“It’s interesting because when you’re a kid, you’re like ‘I just want to work on the TV show I like’, you don’t think about how people will take that and creative pre-conceived notions about you for the rest of your life,” Sabrina continued. “When you’re living your life in a very different way than most young kids, it’s important that you have a super strong support system around you and I’m lucky to have that. I’m not saying that nothing will ever happen that upsets people in my life, because that’s inevitable.”
“Lots of successful people have come from it and I think it helped me reach an audience that I probably wouldn’t have been able to reach at such a young age,” she added. “[Although, some] people will take it in a way that means you’re not serious about what you’re doing or it was handed to you on a silver platter. There’s a lot of misconception.”
