Simone Biles Has a Lot of Feelings About Winning the All-Around Gold One Year Ago

Exactly one year ago today, Simone Biles made history by winning the all-around gold medal in Rio.

It’s not the kind of feat one just forgets, and Simone is taking her one-year anniversary of the day to remember all that she has accomplished.

“I’ve had chills all day because one year ago I won the All-Around Gold,” the 20-year-old Olympian wrote on Twitter.

She then took to Twitter again, encouraging others to follow suit: “Never give up on your dreams kids,” she continued, “Anything is possible. XOXO.”

We’re still so proud of her, and of course of Aly Raisman, who took silver in the all-around that fateful day.

Figure Skater Ashley Wagner Isn't Apologizing in ESPN's Body Issue About The Sport, She's Showcasing It

To us, Ashley Wagner is the face of figure skating right now, and in her essay about the sport, you can see her love for it.

The athlete, who is the reigning U.S. National Silver Medalist, defended her words in the mag on twitter, when one site took the piece like Ashley was apologizing for even being in the sport to begin with.

She wasn’t — at all.

“Let’s be clear, I’m making no apologies for my sport!” Ashley wrote on Twitter. “I’m excited to take this opportunity to showcase the athleticism of skating.”

Definitely read Ashley‘s essay, which will give you more appreciation for figure skating and Ashley.

Ashley is also pictured below with BFF, fellow skater and choreographer Adam Rippon, and gymnast Aly Raisman, at the BODY at ESPYs Party in Hollywood on Tuesday (July 11).

FYI: Aly is wearing Alexis Bittar jewelry.

Aly Raisman's Body-Positive Instagram is the Best Thing You'll Read Today

Aly Raisman's Body-Positive Instagram is the Best Thing You'll Read Today

Aly Raisman is constantly inspiring us with her words of wisdom, and she penned a gorgeous essay about staying positive through everything earlier this year.

Now, she is speaking out again, this time about body-shamers, in a fiery and eloquent Instagram post.

The 23-year-old Olympic athlete uploaded an Instagram of herself wearing a deep-V one-piece swimsuit with frills, looking positively stunning — but, as the caption reveals, that so isn’t the point.

“Wear whatever makes you feel happy and confident,” Aly writes, “Don’t EVER let anyone tell you how you should or shouldn’t dress. We are all entitled to wear what we want.”

She then says something especially important: “Females do not have to dress modest to be respected.”

*bursts into applause*

“Be proud of your body,” she continues, “It’s never about the number on the scale it’s about the way you feel. You are all unique and beautiful in your own way. No one is perfect. AND no matter who you are, male or female, we all have those days of insecurity. We are all human. Everyone’s story is important. EVERYONE. You never know what someone is going through. Thank you all for continuing to inspire me each and everyday. Spread the love guys and enjoy your Monday.”

Aly‘s words are catching the Internet’s attention, and fans are calling them “beautiful,” “true,” and “strong.”
