Jenna Ortega shows off her award after winning at the 2018 Imagen Awards held at JW Marriott Los Angeles at L.A. LIVE on Saturday (August 25) in Los Angeles.
The 16-year-old actress picked up the honor for Best Young Actor for Stuck in the Middle, and was also there to celebrate Elena of Avalor‘s win for Best Children’s Programming.
“Thank you to everyone who’s ever supported SITM and Elena of Avalor,” Jenna wrote on her Instagram Stories over the weekend. “You all are so amazing and sweet and make me feel like I’m the luckiest girl alive!”
“This journey has been so surreal and feels like a dream. Awards are pretty cool, but knowing that SITM and Elena of Avalor make you happy is the best reward of all. Thanks again, love you all forever.”
Amanda Mena almost floats in a pink cloud on stage during her performance on America’s Got Talent on Tuesday night (August 14) in Los Angeles.
The 15-year-old singer, who actually won La Voz Kids in 2014, delivered a stunning bilingual performance of Pink‘s ‘What About Us’ for the first night of the quarterfinals.
“So happy!!! Thank you everyone for the huge amount of support, I still can’t believe that I performed at the Dolby theatre. Feel so blessed, and to top it off my dad flew in to surprise me! Don’t forget to vote!” Amanda wrote on Instagram afterwards.
The 15-year-old powerhouse singer wowed the judges after performing Aretha Franklin‘s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”.
“I really couldn’t believe it,” Amanda shared after getting that golden buzzer spot. “I kind of blacked [out] for a second. I was like, ‘What is happening? Is this real life?’ I cherish that moment a lot.”
She adds, “It feels awesome. I admire Mel B, and I think just being her Golden Buzzer, it kind of connects me to her more. So it’s kind of awesome.”
Amanda revealed during her audition that when that she moved to the U.S from the Dominican Republic, she didn’t speak English, and that made her the target of bullies.
Now though, she’s sending them a thank you. For what? “”Because they taught me a lot.”
She added, “I can learn a lot from the people that don’t like me so much, and from that I can get stronger.”

The 15-year-old singer has faced bullying throughout her childhood and she overcame it by listening to music… which led to her auditioning for America’s Got Talent!
Amanda sang the Carole King song “Natural Woman,” which was later covered by Aretha Franklin, and she got the golden buzzer for her amazing performance.
“You know what you have Amanda? You have genuinely natural soul. You really, really do. That’s not an easy song to sing. This is an audition we’re going to remember for a long time,” Simon Cowell said.
