Ansel Elgort is going to get a lot of awards attention for his upcoming movie The Goldfinch and he’s getting an early start at promoting the film!

The 25-year-old actor made an appearance during the Warner Bros. panel at 2019 CinemaCon on Tuesday (April 2) at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Ansel was joined by co-stars Oakes Fegley, Aneurin Barnard, and Finn Wolfhard. The movie, which opens on September 12, is based on Donna Tartt‘s 2014 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name.

“I hope that people find a piece of themselves in the story, and I hope that whatever drew all those people to that book will also draw them to this movie,” Ansel said in a message to fans (via IndieWire). “I think they will be drawn to this movie, because they did a pretty great job capturing that tone and telling this epic story.”

FYI: Ansel is wearing head-to-toe Tom Ford.

Ansel Elgort Will Play Theo in 'The Goldfinch' Film

Ansel Elgort has a new movie role lined up!

The Fault in Our Stars actor will play Theo in Warner Bros. and Amazon Studios’ film adaptation of “The Goldfinch,” Variety reports.

Westworld actor Jeffrey Wright is in negotiations to portray the character Hobie, and Dunkirk‘s Aneurin Barnard will take on the role of Boris in the John Crowley-directed film.

Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Donna Tartt, “The Goldfinch” follows “a young man named Theodore Decker who survives a terrorist bombing at an art museum – an attack that kills his mother. From there, he tumbles through a series of adventures that finds him living in Las Vegas with his deadbeat father and, later, involved in art forgeries.”

In the book, Hobie is Welty Blackwell’s partner, who is Pippa’s legal guardian. Hobie ends up helping Theo secure a stable life.

Production will start at the beginning of 2018.

Warner Bros. will distribute the film in theaters worldwide, and it will be available to stream on Amazon Prime.
