Tom Holland is heading to the world of television!
The 24-year-old Spider-Man actor will be starring in a new mental illness anthology series coming to AppleTV+, THR reports.
The streaming service has greenlit a straight-to-series, 10 episode anthology titled The Crowded Room, from writer Akiva Goldsman.
It will “explore the true and inspirational stories of those who struggled and learned to successfully live with mental illness.” Season one will be based on the Daniel Keyes biography “The Minds of Billy Milligan.”
Tom is set to star as Milligan, “who was the first person ever acquitted of a crime because of Multiple Personality Disorder (now known as Dissociative Identity Disorder).”
Tom will be continuing his relationship with AppleTV+ and also serve as an executive producer on the series. He’s recently starred in the streamer’s Cherry movie.
Calls is a groundbreaking, immersive television experience based on the buzzy French series of the same name, masterfully using audio and minimal abstract visuals to tell nine bone-chilling, short-form stories. Directed by Fede Álvarez, each episode follows a darkly dramatic mystery that unfolds through a series of seemingly average, unconnected phone conversations that quickly become surreal as the characters lives are thrown into growing disarray.
