Rumors are swirling that Asa Butterfield is reportedly in early talks for the role of Peter Parker in Sony Pictures and Marvel’s Spider-Man reboot!
The 18-year-old Ender’s Game actor was on a shortlist of actors being considered for the role, such as Nat Wolff, Tom Holland, Liam James, and Timothy Chalamet.

The film will center on Peter Parker’s life during his high school days.
If you weren’t aware, Spider-Man will first appear in a supporting role in what many believe is Captain America: Civil War, before starring in the reboot.

Asa Butterfield accepts the Rising Star award during the 2014 Savannah Film Festival held at the Trustees Theater in Savannah, Georgia on Saturday night (October 25).
The 17-year-old actor joined The Walking Dead‘s Norman Reedus at the annual festival, which provides students with opportunities to meet and interact with professionals in the entertainment industry and to honor those who have excelled in their profession.
“I did a question and answer with a group of students,” Asa shared with Savannah Now. “It was a lot of fun. Some were really interested in talking about filmmaking and acting.”
He added about the honor, “I’m so excited to get the award. Being honored is always exciting. I’m happy to be recognized.”
