I’m seeing all the things I’m tagged in with people sad or wondering how I felt .. I feel great I have nothing but good vibes.”

Wallis also took to Instagram to express her excitement for her new role.

“Super excited to finally announce I’m joining the cast of Batwoman. I’m sure you can imagine how much this means to me and how incredible it’s been working on the show so far. Wallis Day To Take Over Ruby Rose's Kate Kane Role On 'Batwoman'

Wallis Day will be playing Kate Kane on The CW’s Batwoman!

The 26-year-old actress is taking over the role originally played by Ruby Rose in season one, THR reports.

If you missed it, in the season two premiere it was revealed that Kate Kane had gone missing after a plane crash.

On this past Sunday night’s episode of Batwoman, Kate was revealed to be alive, but she is unrecognizable due to her injuries. She was shown bandaged up and held hostage.

It is important to note that although Kate Kane has reappeared, Javicia Leslie‘s Ryan Wilder will continue to be Batwoman.

Earlier this month, Ruby had even just said that she would be down to return to the Kate Kane role!

“I mean, I’m obviously moving on to other roles as I think I’ve done about three films since. I would totally do it,” she told ComicBookMovie.com. “I don’t think it would serve the story because I think building the new Batwoman is more important than going back too far into Kate Kane, but of course I would, I would absolutely do anything they wanted as far as that.”

“I haven’t watched the whole thing, but I’ve watched a couple of episodes, and I think how they’re handling it is beautiful. I think it’s her time to shine,” Ruby added.

If you missed it, Batwoman has received an early season three renewal!

'Batwoman' Reveals What Happened To Ruby Rose's Kate Kane

'Batwoman' Reveals What Happened To Ruby Rose's Kate Kane

WARNING! THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS!!

The second season of Batwoman premiered on Sunday night (January 17) and addressed one thing on everyone’s mind…

The season kicked off addressing what happened to Kate Kane, who was played by Ruby Rose in season one.

Kate was on a plane that had suffered a technical failure while flying over Gotham City and came crashing down. Though the plane crashed, Kate’s body has not been found, so she is now missing.

During the episode, Alice (Rachel Skarsten) received a paper airplane from a newspaper clipping about Kate’s disappearance, and on it, “Consider Us Even – Safiyah,” was written in red, hinting that Safiyah Sohail was responsible for the plane crash.

After Ruby Rose announced she was leaving the show, showrunner Caroline Dries confirmed that the character would not be killed off.

“We’ll never erase her. In fact, her disappearance will be one of the mysteries of Season 2. I don’t want to give away any of our surprises, but to all our devoted fans, please know that LGBTQ+ justice is at the very core of what Batwoman is and we have no intention of abandoning that,” she previously told TV Line last summer.

Who Is The New Batwoman? Meet Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder!

Who Is The New Batwoman? Meet Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder!

Batwoman season two premieres TONIGHT (January 17) and there’s an all new person under the mask!

In case you forgot, Ruby Rose shockingly announced that she was stepping away from the series in May 2020, then, two months later, Javicia Leslie landed the role in July.

Javicia‘s role is a whole new character named Ryan Wilder, instead of just taking over as Kate Kane. Her casting makes history as she is the FIRST Black woman to play Batwoman!

Ryan Wilder is likable, messy, a little goofy and untamed. She’s also nothing like Kate Kane, the woman who wore the Batsuit before her. With no one in her life to keep her on track, Ryan spent years as a drug-runner, dodging the GCPD and masking her pain with bad habits. Today Ryan lives in her van with her plant.

A girl who would steal milk for an alley cat and could also kill you with her bare hands, Ryan is the most dangerous type of fighter: highly skilled and wildly undisciplined. An out lesbian. Athletic. Raw. Passionate. Fallible. And very much not your stereotypical all-American hero.

Javicia recently opened up about her role in the show being much more than just her being cast.

You may most likely recognize Javicia from her role as Ali Finer in CBS’ God Friended Me. She’s also been in the BET series The Family Business, and the movie Always a Bridesmaid. Learn more about Javicia here!

Batwoman will air weekly at 8pm ET/PT on The CW!
