Bridgit Mendler‘s debut album came out five years ago and JJJ can hardly believe it’s been that long.
Since then, the actress/singer has went on to star in multiple projects and put out more amazing music that we can’t get out of our years.
Speaking with Music Connection recently, Bridgit looked back on Hello My Name Is… and revealed how she personally connected with it.
“I was definitely connected to it,” she insists. “As I’ve grown up I’ve felt a deeper level of connection just as I’ve matured and felt more self-assured in myself, and I’ve always loved music and just have intuitively had my own perspective in it.”
Bridgit adds that Hello My Name Is… was definitely a learning experience.
“I had a lot of fun on it,” she adds. “After the fact, I’ve had so much more fun even getting more deeply rooted into the music that I’m doing now, so it’s just about chapters in life.”

“These songs are so personal for me, so when I have people respond emotionally to them it’s extremely meaningful,” Bridgit told Ladygunn magazine last month.
“I’m not hiding myself anymore,” she adds, “I’m a new level of vulnerable now.”
“At the same time, I feel like I’ve been identifying with LA more than ever. I want to put roots in somewhere and I get a lot of inspiration from this city and feel at home here.”

Bridgit Mendler taps into your wildest dreams in her new video for “Can’t Bring This Down”.
The singer and actress spoke with Paper magazine about the video’s concept, along with collaborater Pell.
“With Pell and I in this video, you can’t tell which way down is,” she shared.
“When you fall for someone, you fall upwards into an emotional high. It was easy and fun to shoot this video because when I work with Pell, he is always game to try out ideas. It makes creativity boundless.”
Pell adds, “I love working with Bridgit because it feels effortless when we create. The song reminds me of how good it can feel when you don’t hold down your feelings, and also how fun it can be giving into them.”
