Did you know that “Can’t Back Down” has some super relatable lyrics to the current state of the world?!
While the Coronavirus pandemic has taken over the world, and is taking up so much of the conversation, we couldn’t help but realize that Camp Rock 2 really hit the nail on the head with this song.
“We can’t back down, there’s too much at stake/This is serious, don’t walk away/We can’t pretend it’s not happening/In our own backyard, our own home plate,” Demi Lovato sings in the track.
“We got a situation that we can’t ignore/‘Cause ignorance is not bliss/We don’t have to take this, no/With every big decision/Comes an equally important share of the risk/We gotta take this,” she sings in the bridge.

We can’t imagine anyone but Demi Lovato as Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock, but turns out, another amazing actress and singer also auditioned for the role.
You and Broadway’s Jagged Little Pill star Kathryn Gallagher recently revealed in an MTV interview that she tried out for the Disney Channel movie.
“The first song I wrote on guitar, I was 13 or 14 years old, and I wanted to audition for Camp Rock,” she dished. “I saw the audition online and I went to my parents, and I was like, ‘Hey guys, there’s this movie and there’s this role.’ And they were like, ‘No.’ So I slammed the door, and I went into my room, and I picked up my guitar, and I wrote the song called ‘I’m Okay.’”
“And I knocked on the door and I played it for them, then they actually let me audition,” Kathryn continued. “Disney was not as sure as I was that it was my role, and Demi Lovato is very incredible in the role, and I loved the movie, and I was jealous I didn’t get to kiss Joe Jonas, but it’s fine.”
Kathryn also just uploaded a video of her singing “This Is Me”. Check it out below!
“The answer is absolutely not,” he shared with PopBuzz. “I don’t know about you guys. Camp Rock was a great chapter in our lives…”
Joe added, “I wouldn’t be opposed to doing an SNL skit about Camp Rock but I also think it would be funny if we waited like 30 something years from now, when we’re really old.”
However, they’re not shutting down the possibility of bringing co-star and longtime friend Demi Lovato on the road with them for their tour.
“I mean, we have a lot of ideas of getting people up on stage so that would be cool,” Joe shared.
Can you believe that it’s been 10 years since Camp Rock premiered on Disney Channel?! We feel so old!
In a new interview, director Matthew Diamond revealed that Kevin and Nick Jonas, who played Jason and Nate, weren’t originally part of the movie at all.
“[We] actually refashioned the script to reflect the brothers because they hadn’t been in the prior [draft],” he shared.
In the original script, Shane (Joe Jonas) was sent back to Camp Rock by his manager, not his bandmates.
Matthew added, “We just thought, ‘Oh, this is such a great, interesting thing that he’s got two bandmates to say ‘You’re out of control, you’re going back to Camp Rock and you’re going to learn to behave yourself’ or something. That seemed like a much better idea than an off-screen manager.”
In a brand new clip from her upcoming documentary, Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated, she and a few friends watched her childhood videos and one of them was from Camp Rock.
Demi was able to pick out the exact scene where she fell in love with Joe Jonas in real life.
It’s the scene where Mitchie hears Shane playing his guitar at the lake and she encourages him to stand up to his label to let him make the music he loves.
“Oh my god. This moment I friggin’ fell in love with him,” Demi shares.
Singer Demi Lovato knows that the Disney Channel original movie Camp Rock jump-started her career in a huge way — and today she is honoring that in the movie’s nine year anniversary!
“9 years of camp rock?!!!?” the 24-year-old “Confident” singer tweeted. “Time flies by so fast. Thank you Disney for the beginning of such an incredible journey.”
She accompanied her tweet with emojis of the praying hands.
Demi has said she would be super down for a Camp Rock 3 movie (albeit an R-rated one!) — a fact fans were quick to remind her of in her Twitter comments.
“We need the holy trinity together again!” one fan tweeted. Well, Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas have both said that they are on-board for another sequel too, so cross your fingers and toes!
Until then, we’re going to go listen to “This is Me” for the 1,932th time.
