Our favorite The Vampire Diaries couple Klaus and Caroline might appear together another series!
Following the series finale of TVD, executive producer Julie Plec dropped some hints about future episodes of The Originals and another potential spinoff!
“Obviously our timelines did not match up, so Caroline and Klaus are not coming face to face in this season,” Julie told THR.
She added, “That being said, we do have crossover elements in the upcoming season of The Originals that’s about to start airing and it all brings it back to what I see as a future for either The Originals or another piece of the franchise to launch off of the end of The Originals. So I look forward to being able to play around in that sandbox and see if I can make something of it.”
We sure hope we get to see more of Klaus and Caroline in the future!
We recently caught up with executive producer Julie Plec, who confirmed that the fan-favorite couple Klaroline will be referenced in some way in the upcoming series finale.
“All I can say is…look, here’s the thing. There’s a lot of battling and warring in the shipping fandom over Caroline’s future and who she’s meant to be with,” Julie told us. “All we wanted to do was basically say, look, this was a relationship that was important to us too, so we’re not going to ignore it.”
Of course, this doesn’t mean Caroline is going to run off with Klaus. She is married to Stefan (Paul Wesley), after all. But it’s nice to know that the writers wanted to honor that relationship before all is said and done.
“We are fans of the show of the too, as writers, and we want to see each character and each relationship come to its proper end, however we want to define that,” Julie said. “And we thought long and hard about these decisions. We feel, as fans, we enjoy how it ends and we hope other people can see that too.”
The Vampire Diaries series finale airs Friday, March 10 @ 8PM on The CW.
Caroline and Stefan are getting married…or are they?
The new promo for next week’s The Vampire Diaries is out and we’re having ourselves a wedding…but only to bring out the big bad that everyone thinks is Katherine.
Damon puts together the big plan to lure Katherine out of the darkness — throw the one party she can’t possibly pass up: Stefan and Caroline’s wedding.
But will Caroline and Stefan actually get married at all, or will this be something we’ll never ever see?

She recently opened up about some of her favorite moments playing Caroline.
“The writers have kept Caroline interesting over the years. I am grateful that she’s always had a very strong arc,” Candice told EW. “Even in moments where that arc has been in support of another character and what another character’s processing, I feel like it’s been beneficial to Caroline growing as an individual. With her turning into a vampire, I thought that was such a fun and beautiful, defining arc for her. It was still so early on in the series that I just wanted to keep my job and I wanted the character to stay alive, even if that meant that she had to become dead to do so.”
Candice continued, “I just really loved being here and I didn’t want to have to leave, so I feel like it was a great opportunity and a big step up for that character, so going to work I just was so eager to learn and do my best every way I could. Not that I still don’t do that eight years later, but maybe it’s a little different, a little bit more comfortable now.”
The Vampire Diaries series finale airs Friday, March 10 on The CW.
