Chris Colfer‘s brand new book, “A Tale of Magic”, is out today and you all should be running to the store to get it!

The new series is set in the same universe as “The Land of Stories”, but it’s a prequel!

It centers on Brystal Evergreen, who has always known she was destined for great things—that is, if she can survive the oppressive Southern Kingdom. Her only escape are books, but since it’s illegal for women to read in her country, she has to find creative ways of acquiring them.

Working as a maid at her local library gives her the perfect excuse to be near them and allows her to sneak a few titles home when no one is looking. But one day, Brystal uncovers a secret section of the library and finds a book about magic that changes her life forever.

“It was supposed to be a very easy task for me,” Chris joked while speaking on NBC Boston this week. “With the way the world is right now, I had to write something that would encourage young people out there.”

He adds, “My demographic is 90% young girls and they have supporting me from the very, very beginning, so if I can give them an ounce of the courage they’ve given me, I can die a happy author.”

The cast of Glee is getting sentimental on Sunday (May 19) as it’s the show’s 10 year anniversary!

The hit musical show premiered on May 19, 2009, on Fox and changed the lives of many across the world.

Glee ran for six seasons, featured over 728 musical numbers, a concert film, and multiple soundtrack compilations. The cast of the show also embarked on two concert tours.

Members of the cast included Matthew Morrison as the McKinley High choir teacher Will Schuester, Jane Lynch as the mean cheer coach Sue Sylvester, as well as students Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Kevin McHale, Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz, Chris Colfer, Dianna Agron, Harry Shum Jr, Naya Rivera, Heather Morris, Alex Newell, Mark Salling, Chord Oversreet, Darren Criss, Melissa Benoist, Grant Gustin, Max Adler, Lauren Potter, Blake Jenner, and more!

Glee also had a ton of guest stars including Britney Spears, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Jeff Goldblum, Ricky Martin, Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, Carol Burnett, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, and Whoopi Goldberg, among others.

Ahead of the show’s fifth season, star Cory Monteith passed away from a drug and alcohol overdose. The show honored the late actor in the third episode of that season with a tribute episode titled “The Quarterback”.

Stars from the show have gone on to appear on Broadway, London’s West End, perform sold out concert tours, music albums, TV shows, movies and more!

Chris Colfer just announced his brand new book series and we are so excited to read it!

Titled “A Tale of Magic”, the new novel series will be in the same vein of of “Land of Stories”.

The first book will center on Brystal Evergreen, a young girl destined for greatness, but forced to survive the oppressive Southern Kingdom. Her only escape is books, but it’s illegal for women to read in her country, and working as a maid at the local library is the only way to access them.

She eventually finds a book about magic that changes her life forever — and discovers she herself is capable of magic. The only problem: Magic is despised and outlawed, and Brystal is convicted for her crimes.

“I wanted to write a book that, not only takes my young readers on a whimsical adventure, but also helps them cope with our challenging and ever-changing reality,” Chris shared with EW in a new interview. “But most importantly, I wanted to tell a story that teaches children to ‘never surrender your joy or your ambition to the times you live in.’”

Dinah Jane gives us queen vibes and Vanessa Morgan casts a spell over us as they arrive at the 2018 Just Jared Halloween Party presented by Carl’s Jr. at Goya Studios on Saturday (October 27) in Hollywood.

The 21-year-old singer and 26-year-old Riverdale actress hit up the party in striking looks, along with Daniella Perkins, Madison Pettis, Laura Marano, Niki Koss, Loren Gray, and Luna Blaise.

Author Chris Colfer dressed us as a red devil, and Brenna D’Amico was a vampire at the bash, alongside Anne Winters, BFFs Kelli Berglund and Paris Berelc, siblings Maia and Alex Shibutani, singer Rebecca Black, Landry Bender, and angel Laurie Hernandez.

Guests were well-fed at the event thanks to Carl’s Jr. The menu included the Famous Star burger, crisscut fries, and fried zucchini. The food truck had a line the entire night!

Just before the signing event and his panel, the 28-year-old author revealed that he’s working on a prequel series to his “Land of Stories” novels!

“I am writing a ‘Land of Stories’ prequel series,” Chris confirmed during his Instagram Live chat. “I plan to put a LGBTQ+ character in that.”

And if you’re wondering about if they’ll have powers – they will.

Chris also says that while he can’t reveal any “Land of Stories” movie updates just yet, when he can, you won’t be able to shut him up.

Chris Colfer just made the JJJ Book Club super happy – because he just announced that there’s a NEW companion book coming for his hit novel series, “The Land of Stories”.

The book will be “an insider’s guide” to the series and will also be a “travel guide, encyclopedia, and definitive fan compendium.”

“The Ultimate Book Hugger’s Guide” will also feature character and location guides, exclusive behind-the-scenes information on “The Land of Stories”, bonus chapters, Chris’ sketches, and much more.

So, obviously, if you’re a fan of Chris‘ stories, you need this book.

Chris Colfer suits up for opening night of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child held at the Lyric Theatre in New York City on Sunday night (April 22).

Not many remember that it was Harry Potter that inspired him to write his “Land of Stories” novel series!

While speaking with CBC last year, Chris revealed that not only was he inspired by the books, but also stood in line for each of them as a kid.

“A lot of authors who are in this position where they’re able to talk about works that inspire them, they whip out like Tolstoy and maybe some more impressive titles, but it ["Harry Potter"] was [mine],” he shared.

Chris added, “It captured my attention in a way that had never been captured when I was a kid and the reason I learned how to read.”
