The 23-year-old The Little Mermaid actress stars in the just released first trailer for the upcoming new reimagining, alongside Phylicia Pearl Mpasi, as they play sisters Nettie and Young Celie, respectively.

Joe Jonas joined his wife Sophie Turner for a date night on Broadway this week!
The longtime couple stepped out for the opening night performance of the play Topdog/Underdog on Thursday night (October 20) at the Golden Theatre in New York City.
They were in attendance to support Sophie‘s former co-star Corey Hawkins, who stars in the play alongside Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. They are getting rave reviews for their work in the play.
The play is “a darkly comic fable of brotherly love and family identity, tells the story of two brothers, Lincoln (Hawkins) and Booth (Abdul-Mateen II), names given to them as a joke by their father. Haunted by the past and their obsession with the street con game, three-card monte, the brothers come to learn the true nature of their history.”

Sophie previously worked with Corey on the short-form series Survive, which was released on Quibi back in early 2020. The show featured 12 episodes that ranged between five and ten minutes each.

Gregory Diaz IV is making a splash in two brand new trailers for his upcoming movie musical In The Heights!
The 15-year-old stars as Sonny in the film, which is the movie adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s Tony-award winning Broadway musical.
Here’s a synopsis: Lights up on Washington Heights, a world very much of its place, but universal in its experience, where the streets are made of music and little dreams become big… The scent of a cafecito caliente hangs in the air just outside of the 181st Street subway stop, where a kaleidoscope of dreams rallies this vibrant and tight-knit community. At the intersection of it all is the likeable, magnetic bodega owner Usnavi, who saves every penny from his daily grind as he hopes, imagines and sings about a better life.
Also starring the film include Anthony Ramos in the lead role of Usnavi, Corey Hawkins as Benny, Leslie Grace as Nina, Melissa Barrera as Vanessa, Olga Merediz as Abuela Claudia, Daphne Rubin-Vega as Daniela, Stephanie Beatriz as Carla, Dascha Polanco as Cuca and Jimmy Smits as Kevin Rosario. The 23-year-old actress stars as Jane in the Quibi series alongside Corey Hawkins as they are followed in the aftermath of a devastating plane crash.
Before the accident, Jane wanted to end it all but crawling from the wreckage with the only other survivor, she has a new drive to stay alive. Together they embark on a harrowing journey out of the wilderness, battling brutal conditions.
Survive is one of Quibi’s “Movies in Chapters” and will premiere on April 6th.
