“I’m a huge believer that everything happens for a reason,” the dancer told Entertainment Tonight. “So, I think I was meant to have that good and bad experience, and learn and grow from it. It definitely gave me thick skin, which is crucial for this industry.”
Chloe also shared that she has reconnected with the other dancers on the show since re-joining.
“We left it very weird, so whenever I would see them, we would say, ‘Hi.’ But, it wasn’t how it used to be,” she continued. “But then I went back to the show and we rekindled that friendship.”
We’re so glad that the girls were all able to reconnect, and that Chloe has such a positive outlook on her entire experience on the show.
Shared by Nia on her Instagram, the Dance Moms girls prove that they’re still the closest of friends off screen.
“There’s a lot of pressure that comes with being in front of cameras, which gets stressful,” Kalani shared with Dance Spirit magazine.
She adds that her introduction to the show — through Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition — was only supposed to be for one episode. Instead, she stayed for the whole season, and three more.
“I was never supposed to be on Dance Moms beyond that one performance,” Kalani shared. “It was my first time, but not my last time, causing drama.”
“It was also the first time I got to meet the other dancers, who have become like sisters.”
Speaking with Wetpaint in NYC this week, the actress/dancer dished about having Cheryl Burke come into the show as the new coach for the team.
“She’s amazing, I love Cheryl,” she shared. “She’s very encouraging and instead of being degrading about our differences, our weaknesses, and our strengths.
“She would focus on how to bring out each of our strengths and how to capitalize on that.”
Chloe also revealed that having Cheryl there as someone who knows almost everything about the business they’re in, was great.
“It was really amazing to be working with someone who is in this business and understands what you’re going through,” Chloe said. “She’s so encouraging, she’s so nice, she’s a tough teacher, but she’s not mean.”
Dance Moms is back on Lifetime TONIGHT @ 9PM ET/PT.
Chloe Lukasiak looks phenomenal in a powder blue suit during her appearance on Build Series in New York City this morning (July 31).
The actress and dancer and her mom, Christi, hit up the program to chat up their return to Dance Moms, which premieres TOMORROW.
“I was a little nervous,” Chloe admitted to Seventeen last month. “There were a lot of reasons why my mom and I left and I hadn’t really left the show on good terms.”
She adds, ” It was a little weird, but I was also really excited. I got to see my friends and be on my team again and it was really crazy. I was backstage at a competition at one point and I was like, ‘I can’t believe I’m back again.’”
Maddie Ziegler left Dance Moms a few seasons ago and definitely didn’t have much to say about her time on the show, however, she’s looking forward to seeing Cheryl Burke on the series next season.
“It’s really cool,” she dished to Entertainment Tonight about Cheryl‘s new gig. “I’m a huge fan of Cheryl‘s from Dancing With the Stars. It’ll be cool to see what she does.”
Maddie added, “Cheryl is a great person, so I think she’ll do really well with the kids. All the girls said they loved her.”
If you remember, the last time the actress/dancer was on the show, it wasn’t exactly pleasant and her exit was dramatic. So, why is she going back?
“Some people have asked us why we would go back, but I think it’s important that I do,” she shared with Seventeen magazine. “It was unfinished business for me.”
She adds, “I’ve now been able to close that chapter and move on. You just have to ignore what people are saying and do what’s right for you.”
So, was it weird to actually be around all those cameras again?
“The weird thing was that it wasn’t weird,” Chloe says. “Even though for two years I learned how to live without the cameras around.”
