“I was a little nervous. There were a lot of reasons why my mom and I left and I hadn’t really left the show on good terms,” she shared. “It was a little weird, but I was also really excited. I got to see my friends and be on my team again and it was really crazy.”
Chloe explained her real reason for returning: she got the Dance Moms bug after her visit last season!
“I found out that the show was coming back for another season and my mom started talking to [the other moms] and we decided to go back for another season. It was pretty insane and out of nowhere.”
TELL JJJ: Are you excited that Chloe is officially coming back?
“It’s the ultimate behind-the-scenes of my life,” Chloe tells People. “It’s something really close to my heart. I’ve always been the self-proclaimed nerd of the group. I love reading and writing so this just seemed so natural and so right. It’s been a crazy journey so far.”
Chloe was on Dance Mom for four seasons, before she abruptly quit the show.
“The reason for leaving the show was my old teacher mocked my eye very bluntly; I was dealing with some serious health issues,” Chloe explains to People. “[My exit] was very abrupt and I didn’t expect to leave obviously. But after that happened my mom and I just kind of talked about it and it didn’t seem right to go back.”
Now that Dance Mom‘s Abby Lee Miller is being replaced by Cheryl Burke, maybe there’s a chance she will return for season 8, but she’s keeping her lips sealed!
However, that has nothing to do with their reasons to leave the Lifetime reality show.
According to TMZ, Ashlee‘s issues are with the recent dance number the company performed at the Fierce National Dance Competition on last weekend.
“I have decided to leave Dance Moms because there were some events that took place over the last week, which included portraying young girls in a manner that I would never want my daughter portrayed in,” she shared.
She adds, “I was absolutely appalled at anybody feeling that this was an appropriate way to portray 14 and 15-year-old girls.”
Ashlee also says that she met with the producers about her concerns, but was brushed off.
“The last straw for me absolutely was when I expressed my concern with my 13-year-old daughter being on a television show that was portraying young women that way, and I was blown off, I was brushed off, and told ‘Well, this would be OK in Europe.’”
