David Archuleta has returned with one of the best EPs we’ve ever heard.

The former American Idol runner-up took a long break from music for a mission and returned with four amazing songs that you’re going to want on your playlist right away.

“This is a new beginning,” David shared about the EP. “I’ve never felt so intrinsically fulfilled and electrified by my own music.”

He adds, “It’s not just taking another chance with music, it’s taking another chance on myself.”

David Archuleta just debuted his first video in what feels like forever and it’s pretty amazing to watch.

The singer dropped the visual for “Up All Night” and later explained the true meaning and inspiration behind the song and video.

“Years ago, I was up all night for a different reason because I was lost and confused, wondering where I was going in my life. This family invited me to go out to rural Tennessee, away from everything and go fishing and to just spend time with them outside on their property,” he says.

David adds, “Suddenly, in this simple place, I found myself and I found motivation and inspiration and I found a piece of my identity that I was missing.”

David Archuleta is officially back!

The American Idol alum just debuted a brand new song from his upcoming EP, Orion.

“‘Up All Night’ came from when I was having a really rough month trying to see how I could make a statement and prove myself and was getting nowhere,” David shared about the track with People.

He adds about the EP: “I’ve co-written all of the songs, and they they tell the journey of where I have been and where I am heading.”

Orion will be out on May 19th.

David Archuleta has officially returned with a powerful new song called “Numb”.

The former American Idol runner-up spent a few years away from the limelight on a mission with his church.

“It occurred to me that maybe I can actually write about what I’m really going through instead of teenage love songs because that’s what people want to hear,” David shares about his journey with Billboard.

He adds, “That’s kind of how I’ve always been trained. It didn’t occur to me that I could write about what I was actually feeling, and we just started writing and that’s what came out of it.”

While there’s no plans for an EP just yet, David may be releasing more songs in the coming months — yay!

David Archuleta makes his first red carpet appearance in a long time at the 2016 Tyler Robinson Foundation Gala at Caesars Palace on Friday night (September 30) in Las Vegas.

Benefiting families affected by pediatric cancer, the 25-year-old singer was joined by Modern Family‘s Nolan Gould and Alexandra Daddario.

“Little Benji was asleep but diagnosed with brain cancer at 9 months he’s one of the families being helped by @TRFdotORG #teamsuperbenji,” David shared on Twitter with a pic of the family.

David Archuleta reunites with David Cook backstage at the American Idol Finale held at Dolby Theatre on Thursday night (April 7) in Hollywood.

The two Season 7 guys joined Amber Holcomb, Allison Iraheta, Caleb Johnson, Mackenzie Bourg, Dalton Rapattoni, and Jessica Sanchez on the blue carpet ahead of the big event.

“Wow, what a night it has been this finale of all @AmericanIdol Finales. I’m grateful to have been a part of this legacy and to have met such wonderful people both contestants in front of the camera and crew behind the scenes,” David wrote on Twitter afterwards.

He added, “Congrats @TrentWHarmon for earning that final idol win, and to @laporsharenae for also rocking it! The final 2 of this talented group and look forward to hearing more from both of you!”

With the series finale of American Idol just weeks away, JJJ is excited to see most of all the past winners return to the stage for an epic stand off.

But the one name missing from the roster that we’re really anxious to see? David Archuleta!

While the show, nor David, has confirmed a return for the big finale, the show has teased that “more past performers” could be included by airdate and “surprises” are still expected. Crossing fingers!
