The Freeform series revealed the date and a new trailer at the 2020 Winter TCA Press Tour held at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena on Friday (January 17) in Pasadena, Calif.
The premiere date for the 10-episode, one-hour drama is set for March 18 at 9 p.m. EDT/PDT.
Here’s the synopsis: “Set in an alternate, present-day America where witches ended their persecution 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the burgeoning U.S. government to fight for their country, Motherland: Fort Salem follows three young women from basic training in combat magic into terrifying and thrilling
early deployment. In this world, the traditional roles of gender and power are flipped, with women on
the front lines fighting looming terrorist threats that are strikingly familiar to our world, but with
supernatural tactics and weapons.”
At the event, Nicole said about creator Eliot Laurence (via Deadline), “He has the world in his head.” Demetria added, “To understand the power women possess and to have a man (Laurence) understand that, it’s been a joy, an honor and a pleasure.”
