Gina and Prince Royce will play twin sirenas (mysterious underwater creatures), Princess Marisa and Prince Marzel.
In “Elena of Avalor: Song of the Sirenas”, Elena (Aimee Carrero) travels to Nueva Vista, a place that she used to visit when she was a child, and reconnects with her cousin Duke Cristóbal, who has been keeping watch over the city. While there, she encounters a group of mermaid-like sea creatures called sirenas and learns about their complicated history with humans. In an attempt to make amends, Elena befriends the sirenas and enlists their help to defeat evil sorceress Shuriki (Jane Fonda).

The songwriters on the show were inspired by the cabinet meeting rap battles from the Broadway musical Hamilton that they had to do something like that.
“Our songwriting team was inspired by the #Hamilton cabinet meeting rap battles to do a tribute/homage with this Grand Council musical duel, but @ChristianLanz & @aimeecarrero had to spit out the words! Well done, you 2!” Executive Producer Craig Gerber wrote.

The actress is celebrating her 29th birthday today (July 15) while at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif., all while promoting new details about Elena of Avalor. She even got a cake backstage!
During a panel, showrunners announced that Elena of Avalor‘s all-new special Realm of Jaquins will be out in August.
Originally meant to be the season finale, the new special sees Elena traveling to the realm of the jaquins, and unknowingly puts her kingdom, Avalor in danger.

Disney Channel just renewed the series, which follows Princess Elena of Avalor (voice of Aimee Carrero), a confident and compassionate teenager in an enchanted fairytale kingdom.
“Elena is coming back for season 3! We’re so excited that you’ll be part of her adventures to come!” the show’s official account tweeted.
The second season of Elena of Avalor is scheduled to premiere this fall on Disney Channel and Disney Junior.
