Evanna Lynch and partner Keo Motsepe ham it up for the cameras during their appearance at Planet Hollywood in New York City on Wednesday afternoon (September 12).
The 27-year-old Harry Potter actress has revealed her motivation for why she signed up for Dancing With The Stars.
“I really wanted to challenge myself,” she shared in a video soundbite from the series. “I’ve never done anything like this. It’s reality TV, six days a week and being in front of people.”
Evanna added, “When I’m left to my own devices, I’m much more of a wallflower…I’m very introverted. If you don’t tell me what to do, I just stay at home and read. That is my happy place, but it’s not my best place.”
She also says that her new journey on DWTS can kind of be compared to her journey on Harry Potter.
“You should be constantly pushing yourself…that’s what Harry Potter did for me when I was 14. I was shy, I was afraid of everyone and having to be in the spotlight and be a part of this huge franchise, it brought me out of myself in a way that made me happier,” Evanna says. “I needed another push and that was this is for me. I want to challenge myself and be scared every day and face it.”
Dancing With The Stars premieres on Monday, September 24th on ABC.

The full cast of DWTS season 27 will be announced on Good Morning America on Wednesday, September 12th, with the series kicking off on Monday, September 24th on ABC.

The Forbidden Forest leg of London’s Warner Bros Studio Tour opens on March 31st.

The release of the upcoming Harry Potter spin-off movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is inching closer and closer and seeing the stars at the New York premiere is getting us SO excited!
Eddie Redmayne and Ezra Miller were among the actors who walked the red carpet at the world premiere held at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall on Thursday (November 10) in New York City.
Also in attendance were stars Zoe Kravitz, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Faith Wood-Blagrove, and writer JK Rowling. Earlier in the day, the cast attended a press conference for the film.
