Ferdia Shaw is dishing on his choice to be a vegan.
The young Artemis Fowl star opened up in a new video for PETA where he compares his own animals to those in the meat industry.
“My dog has taught me that it’s really the simple things that can make her so happy. Like, all she needs is a family to love her,” he says in the video. “And my cat has taught me that she’s the boss.”
“They’re both animals, and they both just need love,” Ferdia added about caged animals. “[I]t’s disgusting how they’re treated on these farms. They’re living in their own filth, and some animals don’t even ever see the light of day. In 50 years’ time, I hope that we will look back on our treatment of animals with disgust.”
You can finally catch Ferdia in Artemis Fowl, now streaming on Disney+!
Movie theaters around the country are shut down right now, so Disney has decided to put the movie Artemis Fowl directly on Disney+ instead of delaying the release any further.
Kenneth said in a statement, “Artemis Fowl is a true original. In challenging times, a twelve year old criminal mastermind is one heck of a travelling companion. Smart, funny, and cool as mustard, he’ll take you to new worlds, meet unforgettable characters, and mix magic with mayhem. His own family is everything to him, and (although he’d never admit it), he’d be as proud as I am that families around the world will now be able to enjoy his first amazing screen adventures together, on Disney +.”
