Gaelan Connell hangs on to his weapon of choice in this group shot from his new Cartoon Network movie/series, Level Up.
Level Up summary: At night, Wyatt (Connell), Lyle (Jessie T. Usher) and Dante (Connor del Rio) battle together as heroic avatars, in a massively multi-player online video game, “Conqueror of All Worlds.”
Yet, by day these high school teenagers barely know each other’s names, let alone their real identities. That all changes after they mistakenly open a portal from the game world to the real world unleashing the game’s evil villain Maldark, a bunch of his trolls and the entire content of the internet, into their once peaceful neighborhood.
Now the trio must put aside their differences and join forces with their classmate Angie (Aimee Carrero) to work together IRL (in real life) to win the game and save the world.
Level Up will premiere as a movie on Wednesday, November 23 @7PM ET/PT on Cartoon Network and then turn into a series in 2012.

Vanessa Hudgens and Gaelan Connell enjoy the New York Knicks basketball game from front row at Madison Square Garden in NYC earlier this week.
Just before catching and meeting up with Gaelan, the 22-year-old actress stopped by the 25 Park boutique in Manhattan, wearing a gorgeous blue velvet dress from Catherine Maladrino.
Vanessa has had quite a busy week, promoting her new film, Beastly. She stopped at Live with Regis & Kelly, MTV’s The Seven and Late Night with David Letterman.
After her busy week, Vanessa headed to Vegas to celebrate BFF Brittany Snow‘s 25th birthday!
Gaelan Connell has wrapped up production on his new movie I Am Ben!
The flick, which Gaelan, 21, stars in and also wrote and directed with his Exist bandmate Mat Brady, centers around Arthur, a young writer with a bad case of OCD.
His close friends and roommates David (Tim Jo) and Drewbird (Charlie Saxton) think his problems will be solved by getting a girlfriend.
Aspiring journalist (Vanessa Marano) appears to be the solution but the perfect woman, Max, shows up – the only problem, she’s imaginary.
The movie had a test screening back in October, with additional finishing touches on the way.
FYI: You can also catch Gaelan in the new Cartoon Network Movie Neverfail.
The trio recently sat down with Scholastic to chat about their favorite reads.
Aly, 20, shared that her fave book is “The Bad Beginning,” the first book in the 10-book series, “A Series of Unfortunate Events” by Lemony Snicket while Gaelan, also 20, prefers “A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeleine L’Engle.
Check out the vids below and tell us — what is your favorite book?
Bandslam star Gaelan Connell gets silly with JustJaredJr.com‘s famous coasters recently in New York City.
JJJ had the chance to chat with the self-proclaimed dork and leading man of Bandslam. Check out what the 20-year-old actor had to say:
JJJ: Have you been recognized on the streets yet? Gaelan Connell: I have not. One of the coolest things that happened was we left this screening in New York – I went to see [costar] Ryan Donahue – and this girl came up to the two of us afterward and was, like, “Nobody knows it yet, but you guys are so cool!” And I was, like, aww! That’s awesome. “But nobody knows it yet!”
JJJ: Did you play Rock Band and Guitar Hero before you got Bandslam? GC: Yes, but this definitely helped because they had all these free things – merchandiiiise! Lisa [Kudrow] and I actually played a lot ’cause there’s a scene in the movie where we’re supposed to play but you totally put a picture of us playing it on your blog! Hopefully it’ll be in the deleted scenes.
I think it was because we were too good at it. Lisa and I practiced and we got to Expert. And she’s really competitive – she’d block the screen with the guitar and stuff – like, Mom! And then when we had to shoot it, the TV was off and all the crew guys were getting pissed, like, “Get it right!” and we were, like, “No, we’ve done it!” and nobody believes us. I’m adamant – Lisa and I were really good at it.
Stay tuned for more of our exclusive interview with Gaelan and go see Bandslam — out in theaters TODAY!
