The 30-year-old singer, who will play Frenchy in tonight’s Grease: Live, showed off the gift on Instagram from Didi, who played the role in the 1978 film.
“Dear sweet #didiconn I can’t thank you enough for your generous spirit and inspiring talent. This locket/ original Frenchy shirt you left in my room had me crying those happy tears. Xoxo #FRENCHY loves for life!” Carly Raecaptioned.
Check out the sweet message Didi left for Carly Rae on the shirt!
Carly on working with her cast mates: “With the girls, it’s really easy. You’re braiding each other’s hair, grabbing each other’s asses. We’re just girlfriends in that way, like the Pink Ladies.”
Vanessa on the pressure of a live show: “The live aspect doesn’t freak me out. It’s a bit nerve-wracking.”
Director Tommy Kail on changing some of the racist and homophobic lines from the original: “We can move past some of those [politically incorrect] things and still have the integrity of the story.”

We’re less than a week away from watching Jordan Fisher be his amazing self as Doody in Grease: Live.
Speaking with press, the 21-year-old actor and Barry Pearl, who played Doody in the 1978 film, chatted about the production and their friendship — one that happened before Jordan was cast.
“This is incredible for me because I watched this man a decade before I even made my first trip to Los Angeles,” Jordan shared. “Seeing him was one of my first musical experiences, so to be able to watch the film as a kid and be able to dream of doing something like that one day…”
Jordan and Buddy became friends after Barry filled in for a role during the Aladdin panto at the Pasadena Playhouse.
“I said then we needed to work together and two years after that I’m reprising a role he is so famous for,” he said.
Barry added, “That was the genesis of our friendship. We became fast friends and boom here we are together doing this amazing thing.”
He continued about the new, live version, “The torch has been passed and from what Didi [Conn] and I can see, because she’s a part of it as well, we couldn’t be more pleased with how its been passed. These kids are kicking in with a capital KICK.”
Grease: Live airs THIS Sunday, January 31st @ 7PM ET/PT on Fox.
