Hailee Steinfeld opens up about finally being back to work after the pandemic halted productions for months.

The 23-year-old actress and singer was first seen on set of the Hawkeye series in early December in New York City.

During a recent interview for season two of Dickinson, Hailee admitted she wasn’t sure if Hawkeye was going to happen yet.

“It’s so wonderful to be back at work. I feel so grateful. It’s been a very crazy year of not knowing if that was gonna happen for a while. So happy to be back at work and I’m excited to be playing this character. It’s gonna be really fun. I’m excited for people to see it. I’m excited to see it,” she told Fandom.

“It’s amazing to finally be able to confirm. It’s such an honor, my goodness, to be playing this role. I’m so, so excited about it,” she added about finally being able to talk about the role after Disney and Marvel officially announced her casting.

Hailee Steinfeld is opening up about Hawkeye for the first time!

Since it was officially announced that the 23-year-old is starring in the upcoming series, she’s able to talk about playing Kate Bishop.

“I’m working with some incredible filmmakers that are helping me bring her to life,” she told ET. “I can’t wait for people to see how we are interpreting this character through the comics and in our own sort of ways.”

“She’s such a badass, there’s no denying that. She’s so smart and witty and quick and her physical ability to do so many things is through the roof. It’s really tested me and it’s kept me going through quarantine, I will say. It’s given me a reason to stay with it,” Hailee added.

“I’m just very excited as I continue developing her to see sort of how we come up with it all,” she shared.

While they have been filming in New York City this year, the show isn’t expected to be out on Disney+ until late 2021.

Hailee Steinfeld walks down a red carpet and past a giant Christmas tree while filming a scene for Hawkeye on Thursday night (December 10) at the Lotte New York Palace in New York City.

Also spotted on set that night were Vera Farmiga and Tony Dalton, marking the first time they’ve been seen on set. It looks like it may have been a Christmas party scene based on all the decorations.

Vera is playing Eleanor Bishop, the mother of Hailee‘s character Kate Bishop, while Tony is playing Jack Duquesne, who is believed to be a take on an early mentor to Hawkeye.

Jeremy Renner was seen in his tuxedo with Hailee the night before while filming.

Hailee Steinfeld and Jeremy Renner check out some toys while on a night shoot on Wednesday night (December 9) in New York City.

The co-stars were filming for their upcoming Hawkeye series at the famous FAO Schwarz toy store in Rockefeller Center.

Hailee and Jeremy have been keeping super busy filming the new show non-stop all week.

Just the day before, Hailee was seen dressed up in Kate Bishop’s purple costume, along with a bow and some arrows.

That day as well, Hailee shared a sweet bouquet she received from her family.

“We couldn’t be more proud … Good luck on your new project … Love you Mom, Dad + Griffin,” the note read. Aww!

Hailee Steinfeld is looking JUST like Kate Bishop while filming for the upcoming Hawkeye series on Tuesday (December 8) in New York City.

The 23-year-old actress was of course joined by co-star Jeremy Renner for scenes on the Lower East Side of the city.

Earlier that day, we got the first glimpse of Hailee in the purple and black costume, which solidifies her role as Kate.

If you didn’t know, Kate made her first appearance in the Marvel comics in 2005 as part of the Young Avengers. She is the third person and first female to take on the role of Hawkeye.

Pictured in the gallery here, you can see Jeremy handing Hailee an arrow, which is very symbolic, as Kate is said to be taking over for Clint Barton as Hawkeye at some point.

Also in the photos, we get a glimpse at Aleks Paunovic, best known for his work in the Van Helsing series, who was seen in costume as a member of the Tracksuit Mafia!

Hailee Steinfeld is getting into the action.

The 23-year-old actress was seen filming with co-star Jeremy Renner for Avengers spinoff Disney+ TV series called Hawkeye on Tuesday (December 8) in New York City.

The series is based on the Marvel Comics superhero Hawkeye, centering on the adventures of Young Avenger Kate Bishop, who took on the role after the original Avenger, Clint Barton.

One day before, the two stars were seen filming in Times Square in front of the Disney Store, which could be some perfect product placement considering that the show will be streaming on Disney+ when it premieres.

Hailee and Jeremy encountered some of the character impersonators in Times Square, and it looks like Clint Barton (Renner) and Kate Bishop (Steinfeld) were a bit cut up and bruised in the shot.

The two were in the famed tourist spot of the city as they filmed more scenes for their upcoming Hawkeye series for Marvel and Disney+.

While in Times Square, Hailee and Jeremy came across a few familiar faces – sort of. There were quite a few Marvel character impersonators, include The Hulk, Captain America, and Thor.

The day before, the pair, who are playing Clint Barton/Hawkeye and Kate Bishop in the series, were seen filming in another part of the city in the same outfits.
