The 27-year-old musician teased a new track “One Good Reason” before dropping it on Friday (June 14).
“Guys, it’s HERE!!! #OneGoodReason is officially out now!” he excitedly shared.
Earlier in the week, Hunter took the stage at CMA Fest.
“#CMAfest Day 1, you were everything and more!! Special thanks to @Spotify for inviting me to play the #SpotifyHouse at @OleRedNashville and to @glaad and @TyHerndoncom for letting me drop in for a few songs at The Concert for Love & Acceptance!” he wrote on Twitter.
During his recent interview with AfterBuzz TV‘s Ally Nasta, the 27-year-old singer revealed that Shawn is one artist he’d love to collab with one day.
“Shawn Mendes keeps [mentioning] me in two or three interviews, so I keep hoping that that’ll [a collab will] happen at some point…he’s such a badass and I, I would, I would really enjoy that,” Hunter shared.
He added, “I got to meet him a couple years ago when he did a show in Nashville and hang out with him a little bit. I just love the pure human being that exists behind all that music. And I love the purity of his music, too, so, that would be dope.”
There are some other artists that Hunter would love to collab with too.
“I’ve got a bunch of little music obsessions right now. My latest one is The 1975, as I’m sure you can tell by watching my Instagram,” Hunter laughed. “I would love to. I would love to do a show with them, like, the five of us. Like, be the fifth member of, of 1975, plus one.”
He continued, “I love Matty’s [Healy] message. I love what he, you know, there’s a lot of things that he, that he says and stands for that I really honestly, wish more people would stand up and say and I just…I love, I love that stuff, so. And it’s one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen.”
Hunter Hayes is all smiles backstage at the Sounds Like Home Raleigh event presented by Ashley Homestore on Thursdsay night (April 4) in North Carolina.
Just recently, the 27-year-old “Heartbreak” singer opened up about his take it or leave it relationship with social media.
“Honestly, I’m not as good at it as I should be,” he told Cody Alan. “As far as letting people in and posting cause, honestly, my habit is like, ‘Why would anyone care?’”
Hunter adds that the things he gravitates towards on platforms are more about “seeing beautiful places and travel blogs and things. But, I could do without it.”
“There is something about it that bothers me when I see someone totally faking this smile in this place that I know that they don’t really want to be. It sounds exhausting.”
Hunter Hayes just made our Valentine’s Day even better by releasing a brand new version of his hit song, “Wanted”!
The new version is a welcome and refreshed song, smoother, and not overproduced. In fact, it might even be better than the original version.
If you missed it, Hunter also just released another new song, called “Heartbreak”.
“It was a combination of things — me really wanting to write to that person, but me also really wanting to just explain what I was going through on the search,” he says about the song’s meaning. “I started writing it on my trip to Hawaii at the beginning of last year, where I sat on the edge of the ocean and wrote nearly two pages of lyrics that approached a love letter to someone I’ve never met.”
You can listen to both the new “Wanted” and “Heartbreak” below!
Hunter Hayes put a brand new spin on his new music video for “One Shot” and it’s probably his best yet!
The 27-year-old singer turned the visual into an animated story that finds him regretting and not remembering anything he did the night before after drinking a little too much.
“I really wanted the video to portray the humor in looking back at some of my most embarrassing moments and highlighting the fact that it’s really okay to not take yourself so seriously,” Hunter told Billboard.
He adds, “So many hidden Easter eggs in every frame of this have their own long story, so I’m proud of taking my shame and turning into something hopefully everybody can get a kick out of.”
