While promoting his new music, Hunter says that you can hear how his music helped him through the split.
“I had a lot to go through, and you do hear it through every step of the album,” he says. “The good, the bad, the denial…all of it, and even the after, the moving on.”
He also opened up about how he’s always looking for his life partner.
“I’m pathetically always looking for my life partner,” Hunter shared. “…I’m less knowing of what the h*** I’m doing, and what I’m looking for, or who I’m looking for, and how I can be good for somebody and more aware of the fact that I’m completely clueless.”
Hunter Hayes is back with another brand new song, “One Shot”, that will hit you right in the feels.
The 25-year-old country singer is getting even more and more real with each new song he drops from his forthcoming album.
“I’ve never done anything like this. I’ve never written anything like the stuff on this album and there’s topics that I’ve never covered before that I’ve been afraid to cover,” he recently shared with Taste of Country.
Hunter adds, “Musically, there’s some stuff we’ve tried that we’ve never tried before.”
Hunter Hayes has dropped the official music video for his honest new song, “Dear God”.
The track, co-written with Andy Grammer and Dave Spencer, started as a letter Hunter had written on a plane.
“I had written a letter on the plane that was at first ‘Dear World’ before I realized I was actually writing to God,” he explains. “…When Andy took the series of questions we were making for the chorus and turned the last one into ‘are you sure that you don’t mess up,’ it hit me really hard.”
“I ask that all the time and I don’t think I’m not the only one,” Hunter adds. “It’s a valid question and one I truly believe you don’t ask unless you already know that answer because the opposite would be entirely too scary to live with.”
Hunter continues that the tracks “description of the nights when I question my world couldn’t be more vulnerable. We all face the question of being good enough for the world around us and sometimes we just need a reminder that we are.”
The 23-year-old singer is up for Video of the Year with Kane Brown, who also stepped out with his girlfriend, Katelyn Jae.
“THIS IS SO AWESOME. Thank you to the fans that got us into the final round of voting for Video Of The Year. Eeeeek. Vote vote vote!!” Lauren excitedly tweeted earlier today.
Kelsea Ballerini rocks the cutest dress we’ve ever seen for the Billboard Country Power Players event held at WestEnd Kitchen and Bar at the Hutton Hotel on Tuesday night (June 5) in Nashville, Tenn.
The 23-year-old “Legends” singer was joined by Hunter Hayes and Goldbergs‘ star and singer Hayley Orrantia at the event.
That same night, Kelsea‘s husband, Morgan Evans, was seen performing at Pandora Presents: Backroads at Marathon Music Works, where a one couple got engaged during his set on stage!
Check out the pics below and stay tuned for our 2018 CMT Music Awards coverage tonight!
FYI: Kelsea wore a DSquared2 dress, Aldo heels and Adornmonde jewels.
Hunter Hayes doesn’t have a drop date for his new album yet, but he can tell you some things.
Speaking with Taste of Country, the 26-year-old musician revealed that he hopes “it would be at least as emotional as the debut record” and that he “can’t compare this record to anything else.”
We’re intrigued…
“I’ve never done anything like this,” Hunter adds. “I’ve never written anything like the stuff on this album and there’s topics that I’ve never covered before that I’ve been afraid to cover. Musically, there’s some stuff we’ve tried that we’ve never tried before.”
Hunter continues, saying that the music will be something he and his fans will be able to have a conversation about.
“I’ve learned that when I do crack the surface and break through the ice and show people the scars and the things underneath, we have a lot more to talk about together,” he shares. “Those moments are beautiful too — the hard times in life and the good times. Really letting people in is always a better conversation.”
“The fans taught me that lesson. If anything, I’m trying to listen to what they’ve taught me and work with the faith that they’ve put in my hands.”
