Lorde is being honored for her efforts to save the environment!
The 25-year-old singer was honored by Hunter Schafer at the Variety’s Power of Women Presented by Lifetime event on Thursday night (September 30) at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, Calif.
While introducing Lorde, the 22-year-old Euphoria actress shared the heartwarming story of how she connected with Lorde‘s music.
“Lorde’s debut album and song were everything. For so many young people like me, it felt like we had been found in the album and by its singer,” Hunter said, before adding how Lorde‘s music helped her discover her “inner power.”
Hunter then went on to talk about Lorde‘s work with protecting the environment.
“In the past year, Lorde has used her powerful words, sounds, and presence to promote environmentalism and raise awareness about the growing issue of climate change. To so many of us young people, this is the crucial issue of our time,” Hunter continued. “How can we protect our planet and make it a safe place not only for us to live, but for our children and their children? How can we make these changes in the face of lost time?”

Hunter Schafer wears a two-piece outfit while attending the 2021 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (September 13) in New York City.
The 22-year-old actress was dressed in a silver leather crop top bustier and pencil skirt embroidered with geometric crystal mirrors and black satin sandals from Prada.
Also in attendance was her Euphoria co-star Barbie Ferreira, who wore a custom Jonathan Simkhai gown that she designed and conceptualized with the designer.
“I am always inspired by the 1920s and burlesque, and as we were creating the concept for the dress, I envisioned having a beautiful and structured gown, but for a modern stage. To me, this era was the epitome of American fashion,” Barbie shared of her dress.
The handworked gown is dripping with thousands of embroidered Swarovski crystals and pearls, and took over 100 hours to craft!

Euphoria is preparing to get back to work!
It was just revealed that the hit HBO series will likely be resuming production in April for season two.
According to a new casting notice, the show is looking to cast a brand new lead role with a character named Jamieson, who is described as a 17-year-old black male. Characteristics include an outsider, might have a drug problem, might not, mischievous, funny, unafraid and sensitive.
In the notice, it also reveals that those submitting themselves for the role, must be ready to start production on April 5th in Los Angeles.
This would put production back on over a year after it was shut down due to the pandemic.
The cast sat down for the first table read of the season on March 11th, then three days later, it was revealed they had to shut down. Production resumed on the show briefly later in the year, with only a few characters for two special episodes that revolved around Zendaya‘s Rue and Hunter Schafer‘s Jules.

The 21-year-old Euphoria actress was spotted three separate times this week while walking around New York City.
On all three instances, Hunter had her wired earphones plugged into her phone.
MTV’s Instagram account posted one of the photos and said, “Thank you to @hunterschafer for making me less lonely as the ONLY friend to still use wired earphones. And for keeping masked up so we can get this pandemic under control. ILY.”
Lots of fans commented on that post to say that they are still “team wired” as well, despite the surge in popularity of AirPods.
