Joseph Morgan found a sweet connection between his and Ian Somerhalder‘s new shows!
Joseph‘s new series Brave New World will premiere in 2020, and Ian Somerhalder‘s new show V-Wars is now streaming on Netlix.
“Last day shooting #BraveNewWorld today,” Joseph tweeted. “This project has been epic.”
“In a weird twist of fate we watched the first ep of #VWars last night starring my bro @iansomerhalder,” Joseph Morgan added. “His first line of dialogue: ‘It’s a brave new world’!”
Love it!
The guys co-starred on The Vampire Diaries, which ran for eight seasons from 2009-2017.

Ian Somerhalder is getting candid about what it was like working with his wife Nikki Reed on his new show V-Wars!
The Vampire Diaries actor and the Twilight star teamed up for some of the episodes of the Netflix series.
“It was really amazing,” Ian told Fox News. “Initially, the producers… wanted her to play my wife, and she said, ‘No, I appreciate that,’ but she wanted to play something that was more unexpected, and she did and crushed it.”
“She’s now this really well-known jewelry designer, and she’s built this incredible sustainable company,” Ian continued. “So to see her go in ultra-prepared… breastfeeding our baby, making sketches on conference calls, building this company, put it all down, walk onto set, deliver these powerful, nuanced performances, give everyone a hug and leave — you’re just like, ‘Whoa, what was that?’”
“She’s really a powerhouse, and we are all grateful as producers that she came and really did us a solid favor,” he added. “It was amazing being able to watch her and be on set with her because we’re so lovey-dovey in life and these characters were sort of at each other a bit. It was an amazing experience. I was also directing. Being able to do that with her and set up the scenes and then rehearse with her and then go back and work on camera angles and, then [she] and I would come back together and shoot the scene, and she would leave set… I owe her 20 years of back massages.”

Ian Somerhalder is breaking hearts all over!
The 40-year-old actor is putting in the final word on whether or not he would reprise his The Vampire Diaries role of Damon Salvatore on the latest spin-off Legacies.
“He’s not alive … Damon is dead. That’s how he finds Stefan. He became human, and then he knocks on the door and he goes home. Now he’s with his brother,” he told TV Guide.
While Ian wouldn’t appear on screen, he has expressed interest in following in Paul Wesley‘s footsteps and would love to direct an episode.
“I do know that when Paul went to direct Legacies, he sent me this video message like, ‘Whoa bro, this is insane,” Ian added. “Because they have the same set. They have our old set and stuff. It’s just like a time warp.”
Ian Somerhalder might be a part of Legacies – but not in the way you might think.

“I actually would love to talk to Jules [creator Julie Plec],” Ian said. “I would love to go and direct one of [the Legacies episodes]. Because I know Paul [Wesley] went to do it and he called me and he’s like, ‘Bro, this is f–king crazy.’ Because it’s all of our old sets, which is a time warp, 10 years ago. He’s just going, ‘Dude!’ He was actually kind of emotional about it, he goes ‘This is crazy!’”
“We spent eight years on the show, and now it’s two years later, which we’re still talking about it while we’re working on other things,” Ian Somerhalder added. “That’s a decade, 30 to 40. That’s a very substantial piece of your life. But I would actually love to go back and direct one. I love what they are doing. The show looks amazing, it’s all of my old team.”

Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder have always been very conscious about the environment and their own footprints, so it’s no surprise that they’ve taken on the Green Carpet Challenge!
The picture perfect couple stepped out together at the 2019 Green Carpet Fashion Awards on Sunday (September 22) in Milan, Italy.
Nikki and Ian were joined by Ian‘s The Vampire Diaries co-star Kat Graham at the event.
Nikki took to her Instagram account to write a tribute to her dress designer, Jonathan Simkhai.
“Jonathan I am blown away by your thoughtfulness, creativity and conviction. We sat down just a few months ago to talk about sustainability, how we can all make incremental changes in how we operate on both a personal and business level, and you immediately threw yourself into endless research finding new innovative ways to make fashion safe for our planet,” she wrote. “I love your heart and I love your vision. We decided tonight would be the perfect evening to collaborate for the first of many times bringing this beautiful sustainable dress to life with a little sparkle from @bayouwithlove, and we made it happen! Turns out that Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley weren’t that happy about The Vampire Diaries getting a spinoff in The Originals.
Ian, who played Damon on the long running series, got candid about how he felt about the show during the Wizard World Philadelphia 2019 convention (via CinemaBlend).
When he was asked to name his favorite “K” villain from The Vampire Diaries: Katherine, Klaus, or Kai, Ian admitted that Klaus was the one who ticked him off.
Why though?
“They were all amazing on their own. Klaus really ticked me off ’cause he left and went and got his own show. Rude,” Ian shared. “Oh my gosh, we — by ‘we’ I mean Paul and I — were so bitter with The Originals because we lost all of these amazing actors. Like, those were our peeps, dog. Plus, they had all those great accents.”
He added, “Klaus was an amazing — Joseph Morgan is an insanely beautiful actor.”
Legacies is the latest TVD spinoff, and will be returning for a second season this fall on The CW.
