Sad news for fans of the horror series The Midnight Club.
Variety reports that the Netflix series from Mike Flanagan has been canceled after only one season on the streaming service.
The series took place at a hospice for terminally ill young adults, where eight patients come together every night at midnight to tell each other stories — and make a pact that the next of them to die will give the group a sign from the beyond.
It was based on the 1994 novel of the same name, as well as other works, by Christopher Pike.

Igby Rigney is starring in the new Netflix series The Midnight Club!
The actor is part of the young ensemble cast of the show, taking place at a hospice with a mysterious history. The eight members of the Midnight Club meet each night at midnight to tell sinister stories – and to look for signs of the supernatural from the beyond.
Igby plays boy-next-door type with a charming smile Kevin, who is an old soul who feels a cosmic connection with Ilonka. He is supportive of his family and his fellow patients, and sometimes has a tendency of putting his own needs last.
The show is now streaming on Netflix, and we recently caught up with Igby and learned 10 Fun Facts about him.

The upcoming Netflix series is based on the Christopher Pike stories, including Witch, Gimme a Kiss, Road to Nowhere, The Wicked Heart and more.
Christopher also serves as an executive producer, alongside series creators Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong, Trevor Macy and Julia Bicknell.
