Noah Centineo Was Almost Cast As This Character in 'To All The Boys I've Loved Before'

Noah Centineo Was Almost Cast As This Character in 'To All The Boys I've Loved Before'

Noah Centineo is the perfect Peter in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, and Israel Broussard is the perfect Josh.

However, their roles were almost switched, according to director Susan Johnson.

“When we did chemistry reads, I knew I loved Israel and I knew I loved Noah, but I wasn’t sure who would play which role,” she tells IndieWire.

She adds, “I initially was thinking of Noah for Josh, because I thought, ‘Oh, he seems like boy next door,’ but then once I saw Lana [Condor] and Noah’s chemistry I knew we had to go that direction. Israel was great with Janel [Parrish]. I thought that fit really well.”

Noah adds that he, and Israel, were both happy with which characters they were cast as.

“I’ve known Israel for almost seven years, and being able to work with him professionally, it was incredible,” he shared. “I remember we were talking about it when we got to Vancouver, where we shot the film.”

“We both were kind of laughing at the fact that we both felt that we could play either one, but we were both very happy with where we fell.”

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is streaming now on Netflix.

Janel Parrish To Star in 'To All the Boys I've Loved Before'

Janel Parrish To Star in 'To All the Boys I've Loved Before'

Janel Parrish is going to be in possibly the coolest new movie!

The former Pretty Little Liars actress will star alongside Lana Condor, Noah Centineo, Israel Broussard and Descendants 2‘s Anna Cathcart in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.

The flick is based off of Jenny Han‘s novel of the same name and also features Andrew “King Bach” Bachelor and John Corbett.

The film centers on Lara Jean Covey (Condor), who has always imagined her life as a fantasy but has never let herself feel anything real.

She starts her junior year content with spending lunch in the library reading, but instead Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control when her secret box of love letters is unexpectedly delivered to the various boys she’s had crushes on throughout her life.

To avoid confronting them, Lara Jean fakes a relationship with one of them, but starts to realize that she may not be pretending and something good may have come from these letters after all.

Janel will star as Margot Covey, who is described as “an adult in a teenager’s body.”

As the oldest child, she’s always taken care of Lara Jean and Kitty, but now she’s off to college in Scotland. While she’s there, it becomes harder to provide the sisterly advice she’s known for, and begins to worry when Lara Jean calls her less and less.

Noah will play Peter Kavinsky, Israel is Josh, and Anna is Kitty Covey.
