The Vamps just pulled an Ed Sheeran with their brand new album, Night & Day!

The guys — Brad Simpson, Connor Ball, James McVey and Tristan Evans — took a cue from Ed for their new record and hit up HMV Oxford Street to sell their own albums!

Ed did the same thing with his most recent album, Divide, and just like Ed‘s fans came out in droves — so did The Vamps‘ fans!

Speaking with Reuters, The Vamps revealed that fans will get to hear even more new songs on the second part of the album, Day Edition.

“I think by doing this two-part album means that we’re able to release more music and our fans are able to get more music,” the guys shared. “The first half the album is a bit more sultry. And the second half, ‘Day’, is a bit more organic and uplifting.”

The Vamps have just dropped their third studio album, Night & Day!

Brad Simpson, Connor Ball, James McVey and Tristan Evans recently talked about the album and how it was inspired by heartbreak.

“At one point or another, all four of us have been heartbroken – which is sad! But songwriting is the biggest catharsis and outlet,” Brad shared. “Every person in life goes through it. At the same time, it’s you coming to terms with who you are as a person … there’s a lot to get your head around.”

Brad added about how this new album is much more mature than their previous ones: “It’s a bit more honest and telling of stories of things that have happened to us over the past couple of years.

“It was a bit of a departure from previous albums. A lot of the songs are catered to the concept of the album which is different for us.”

The Vamps' James McVey Reveals How 'Same To You' Came About

There’s only about a week left until The Vamps drop their brand new album and James McVey is giving fans a sneak peek on one of his favorite songs, “Same To You”.

Turns out that James and lead vocalist Brad Simpson headed to Stockholm, Sweden to write this specific song with Jack and Coke and wrote this song on a strange instrument.

“There was an instrument in the corner, that was like a piano, but it was powered by air,” James explains. “Brad pressed his foot on the pedal and that’s when the noise came out.”

“I’ve never seen an instrument like that before, or since then,” he says. Is he talking about a Melodica?

He adds, “He just started playing some chords and in the space of half an hour, we wrote the whole song on this strange instrument.”

You can pre-order Night & Day now on iTunes.

James McVey Almost Left The Vamps While Touring in America

James McVey Almost Left The Vamps While Touring in America

Our hearts stopped as soon as we read this — that James McVey almost left The Vamps!

It happened while they were touring in America a few years ago.

“I had a really difficult time last year where we were on tour in America and things were just building and building for me,” James shared. “I was getting terrified of being late for a hotel lobby call. I wouldn’t be sleeping because of it.”

He adds, “I’d be on stage and I’d be like I hate this, because I don’t understand how I was feeling or why. I was on the verge of saying ‘I’m leaving the band’.”

Thankfully, he didn’t.

James confided in his band mates — Connor Ball, Brad Simpson and Tristan Evans about everything.

“It took me a lot to speak to Brad. I said to him, ‘I’m really struggling, man. I don’t know if I can do this’. Just opening up to someone about my emotions was so refreshing for me as a person. It really pulled me from that edge.”

James added, “If I hadn’t opened up about that, I probably would have left. In hindsight that would have been a ridiculous mistake.”
