'Jane The Virgin' EP Confirms Season 5 Will Be the Last

Don’t mind us, we’ll just be crying over here in a corner about this – but Jane the Virgin will most definitely end with season 5.

According to executive producer Brad Silberling, the series will wrap up with 100 “chapters” (aka episodes) in the next season.

Talking to Metro he says that “yes, we are heading into the final season.”

“It is a wonderful final season of the show…This will only make real sense when you have seen the content of the fifth season of the show. It is exactly as it was laid out,” he shared.

“[We’ve] always known when it was going to end.”

He adds, “It will be 100 episodes when it’s done and 100 is exactly where Jennie [Snyder Urman, creator and executive producer] always hoped it could end the story. So it’s perfect.”

Don’t forget to watch the season four final TONIGHT @ 9PM ET/PT on The CW.

'Jane the Virgin' Might Be Ending Soon, According to Gina Rodriguez

We really hope that we don’t have to say goodbye to Jane the Virgin, but that might happen next year, according to Gina Rodriguez.

The Golden Globe-winning star of The CW’s hit series has hinted that the show will conclude with the upcoming fifth season.

Gina spoke out during the Women to Watch panel from Create & Cultivate and Fossil this weekend in Texas, where she opened up about getting to direct a season four episode.

“When it came to directing Jane, as the star of the show — as a woman, as Latina, I was like, ‘I need to come so correct that I cannot be denied,’” Gina said (via Variety).

Gina also added that she plans to “do more [directing] next year — in our final season.”

The CW has not yet confirmed if the fifth season is the end.

Justin Baldoni is taking on a new role on Jane The Virgin this week – Director!

The actor is taking over the reigns as they film the next new episode of the series.

“I think still feel like that 16 year old kid making music videos and turning in short films instead of book reports. So grateful for the opportunity to direct my first episode of #janethevirgin with people I love and respect so much. Here we go! (Pic taken by my TV ex wife/baby mamma @yaelgrobglas ),” he wrote on Instagram on Tuesday (February 13).

The week before, he shared that he’s excited and nervous to be taking on the task.

“Here we go! Directing an episode of #janethevirgin next week. Nervous, excited, but most of all grateful. It takes hundreds of bad ass and super skilled people working insane hours behind the scenes to make every episode as fun, magical and heartwarming as it is. Grateful for this group of humans who are working so hard to get me ready. Especially the guy in the middle.
#ittakesavillage,” he shared with a picture of the crew.

Gina Rodriguez recently directed an episode that just aired last week. Who will be next to direct an episode??

Gina Rodriguez Says It Isn't Easy To Direct 'Jane The Virgin' - Here's Why

Gina Rodriguez Says It Isn't Easy To Direct 'Jane The Virgin' - Here's Why

Gina Rodriguez is stepping behind the camera tonight for an all-new Jane The Virgin!

The actress and now director, opened up about taking on a new role on the series.

“[Jane] has opened doors for opportunities to create my own shows, to make new faces, to make more Latino and Latina faces, [to put] women in front of and behind the cameras, so Jane is kind of next level,” Gina shared with ET.

That being said though, directing this series isn’t an easy task for anyone.

“Our show is very hard to do,” Gina admits. “Our show is nothing to mess with, I mean the tone is specific.”

Jennie [Snyder-Urman, showrunner] is my muse, she’s my dream-maker and I’ll never be able to repay her, but I think by my actions I’ll be able to do that.”

Gina is already set to direct more episodes of Jane — so tune into her first TONIGHT @ 9PM ET/PT on The CW.

There's Another Character Death Coming On 'Jane The Virgin'

There's Another Character Death Coming On 'Jane The Virgin'

Not to alarm anyone or anything, but there’s another death on Jane The Virgin coming.

While we don’t know when it will happen, show creator Jennie Snyder Urman told Variety that fans will learn “very soon” who he or she will be.

“You’ll have some idea at the end of the next episode, but it will all be clear by the fall finale,” she teased.

We’re sorry, but we’re still NOT OVER Michael’s death, and now we have to deal with another? Nope. Not loving this!

One thing is for certain though, it won’t be Rafael.

During an interview with TV Guide, Justin Baldoni ruled out his character being killed off since Rafael still has another transformation coming.

“What I love about it is our creator is never going to abandon Rafael. He’s not going to stay a douche. I don’t believe that’s what they’re going for,” he shared. “I believe that Rafael is a story of redemption as well. He’s a man that, thanks to Jane, is seeing sides of himself that he’s never had a chance to see. He’s getting a chance to grow and step out of that toxic behavior and to become a much more heart-centered man, and that’s really who he is.”

Gina Rodriguez Reveals How She Played A Hand in Getting Tyler Posey on 'Jane the Virgin'

Gina Rodriguez Reveals How She Played A Hand in Getting Tyler Posey on 'Jane the Virgin'

Gina Rodriguez and Tyler Posey are two of our favorite people, so it’s no wonder that they radiate on screen together.

And in fact, it was sort of Gina‘s idea to get Tyler on Jane The Virgin as Adam.

“I did the cover of Backstage magazine back in 2012 with Tyler before anything had really happened in my life, and he was already in like the third season in Teen Wolf,” Gina remembers to EW.

She continues, “I loved him so, so dearly that when [showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman] was introducing Adam, it was actually me and the costume designer that were walking across the studio and we were like, ‘Tyler would be unbelievable. He’s finishing Teen Wolf. He’s absolutely freaking adorable. He’s the coolest dude ever. He’s a great freaking actor.’ And it happened within like a day.”

Tyler and I had wanted to work together for forever and it was like done, done, done. And then it happened.”

However, it was almost the case that we’d have to say goodbye to him after only a few episodes.

“He is so in demand because he’s such a freaking love bug and he did a movie this summer and then he needed to do another movie and we thought we were going to lose him and I was devastated,” Gina says. “I was legitimately devastated.”

But it all worked out — “We didn’t lose him, so it was like the best thing in the world.”

Everyone can go flood Gina‘s social media with massive thank yous now.

Jane the Virgin airs TONIGHT @ 9PM ET/PT on The CW.
