The 26-year-old “Hold My Hand” singer recently spoke to press about her hopes for her next album, after dropping I Cry When I Laugh in 2015.
“I never thought I’d be writing a record like that. I’ve always written about life and experiences and I’m a positive person. I never wanted it to be a slow, sad heartbreak record, so I managed to spin it into something positive and bring the feelgood factor back with elements of soul, R&B and dance music,” Jess explained.
She added, “I think it’s important to have a journey and the album is a story. I want people to hear it chronologically.”

The 26-year-old British singer recently told the Irish Mirror that she’s feeling “emotional” and “overwhelmed” by how far she’s come as 2015 comes to a close.
“It’s not that long ago. Three years ago probably in retail and I was working for an alcohol company,” Jess said. “It is weird, because it’s like ‘Wow, I’m actually living my dream job right now.’ Who would have thought that actually would have ever happened?”
