Jesse McCartney keeps it cool while chatting about his comeback single, “Better With You”, during his appearance on Build Series in New York City on Wednesday (March 28).
The now 30-year-old musician just recently debuted the music video for the song and it’s definitely swoon-worthy.
“Danielle Campbell is just lovely in this video,” Jesse says of his video co-star. “She’s an incredible actress.”
“I knew I needed an actor for this video because we were attempting to shoot over a two day period and made it seem like we were in a five year relationship; and that can be super uncomfortable if you’ve never met someone before and you’re working together in such a close environment.”
Jesse adds, “This could’ve easily been a slice of cheese…but we wanted to incorporate things that made the relationships authentic.”
In the visual, Jesse dreams up a what if life with Danielle, when she drops her keys on the sidewalk where he’s sitting — and is the perfect visual for his comeback single.
The song is “a hopeful, uplifting message that was written during a turbulent time socially and politically,” Jesse shared with Paper magazine.
He adds, “The world felt like it was unravelling. I think it was a song that I thought everyone would want to hear and frankly I wanted to hear. So I wrote it.”
The two actors and singers both shared photos on their accounts and it’s making us very curious as to what they are up to.
“Me and @thedaniellecampbell …up to something,” Jesse captioned the photo on his account.
Last week, he announced that his new single “Better With You” will be released on March 23, so this leads us to think they may be shooting the music video!
Jesse McCartney just shared the final trailer for his new collaboration with Built by Titan.
The 29-year-old musician and actor teamed up with the EDM artist for the new track. The “Dangerous” video drops TOMORROW, June 10th.
“Here’s a sneak peak of The Official Video for ‘Dangerous’ by @builtbytitan Ft. Yours truly! Look for the full length video tomorrow!” Jesse shared on Instagram.
Built by Titanadded, “Friday. So much blood, sweat, and tears went into this whole effort…seriously. – from so many people. Hope you guys will love it.”
Jesse McCartney chats with a friend while out at The Grove in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon (December 23).
The 28-year-old singer and actor picked up some last minute gifts at Crate & Barrel and one other shop before heading home to spend the holidays with his family and girlfriend, Katie Peterson.
In case you didn’t know, Jesse has a new movie out in theaters — Alvin & The Chipmunks: The Road Chip!
“I just talk normally like I would, but a little higher. It’s tricky because you have to speak really slow, but with the same emphasis and enthusiasm as a normal conversation,” Jesse once shared about voicing Theodore.
He added, “You do that, and it sounds like a chipmunkor it sounds awful, and you have to do it 50 more times. (laughs) As a young boy I was a big fan so it’s kinda cool to be a part of that franchise.”
Jesse McCartney makes us swoon in this brand new outdoors-y feature for the latest issue of Flaunt magazine.
The 28-year-old actor and singer opened up to the glossy about his career, touring with the Backstreet Boys, and more. Check it:
On his secret to avoiding scandal: “Nobody’s perfect, and I know looking back I’ve had some moments too. We all have. It’s a part of growing up. For me though, I think one of the secrets is just always having a team around me that isn’t afraid to tell me ‘No.’”
On the Backstreet Boys: “I’ve toured with the guys twice now and they were quite different each time. They were always very friendly, but 10 years ago, when we toured Europe, some of them were still single or had new girlfriends. It was a lot more of a party then. The last tour we did together here in the States was totally different. A lot of them were now married with kids or had serious girlfriends. Rather than partying on the bus, they were now changing diapers on the bus. It was a lot more low key the second time around, but it was amazing each time.”
On acting and theater: “Having an acting sensibility helps greatly when performing on stage because it helps you convey what emotion you’re trying to get across. There are a lot of nuanced moments in a performance that are all enhanced by having a bit of an acting background. While they’re made to look seamless on stage, often times some of the staging has been thought out in advance – like an actor would do for his performance. After that I go with the moment so it is honest and fresh.”
