Harry’s son is named “Albus Severus” after Dumbledore and of course, Snape.

Here is the question that Jo responded to: “Why did you pick Snape to name Harry’s kid after? I’m genuinely curious as he was nothing but abusive towards everyone.”

“Snape died for Harry out of love for Lily. Harry paid him tribute in forgiveness and gratitude,” she wrote in response. “I’ve got to say this: you lot have been arguing about Snape for years. My timeline just exploded with love & fury yet again. Never change x”

After that tweet, Twitter exploded and Jo returned to discuss the topic for several hours.

A bunch of actors from the eight movies were asked to write short letters to celebrate J.K.‘s 50′s birthday in a new Time piece, but Matthew‘s is definitely the stand out.

“I could talk about the millions of lives Jo has enriched whether through the stories and characters she’s created or through the millions of pounds she’s given to charity. She’s a remarkable woman. However, I would like to thank Jo for changing MY life,” Matthew wrote. “Without her imagination and her talent I would never have become the man I am today. That’s not even to mention her generosity and loyalty when it has come to supporting everything that I have done in the years since Harry Potter. She’s just a wonderful human being and I consider myself so privileged and honoured to call her a friend. Happy birthday, Jo.”

J.K. Rowling Announces 'Harry Potter & The Cursed Child' Opening In London Next Year!!

J.K. Rowling has officially announced that a brand new Harry Potter stage play will be opening in London’s West End next year!

“Today is a very special day for two reasons. Firstly, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was published in the UK 18 years ago,” the 49-year-old author wrote on her Twitter account. “I’m also very excited to confirm today that a new play called Harry Potter and the #CursedChild will be opening in London next year.”

“It will tell a new story, which is the result of a collaboration between writer Jack Thorne, director John Tiffany and myself. I don’t want to say too much more, because I don’t want to spoil what I know will be a real treat for fans,” J.K. continued. “However, I can say that it is not a prequel! To answer one inevitable (and reasonable!) question – why isn’t #CursedChild a new novel? – I am confident that when audiences see the play. They will agree that it was the only proper medium for the story. I’ve had countless offers to extend Harry’s story over the years, but Jack, John and Sonia Friedman are a dream team! It has been a huge pleasure to share with them (and soon, with you!) this untold part of Harry’s story.”

WHAT DO YOU THINK of the new play coming to London?
