Jordan Pruitt is suing her old manager, Hollywood Records, and The Walt Disney Company.

The 28-year-old singer, who is currently working on her first book, has filed a lawsuit against her former manager, Keith Thomas, and Disney over sexual abuse claims.

“3 weeks ago as ‘Jane Doe’ I filed a lawsuit against my molester and those who enabled him. No more Jane Doe. I am Jordan Pruitt. #justice #metoo #SeeSomethingSaySomething,” she wrote on Twitter.

Back in December, Jordan wrote a lengthy post on her Facebook account, sharing her sexual abuse story from when she was a teenager, but didn’t name who it was, until now.

“Unfortunately, these large companies are primarily concerned with sales, money and charts,” Jordan told Variety in a statement. “Too often they fall short of protecting the young talent that they are ‘supposed’ to be caretakers for. Time and time again we see people in positions of power fail us. I couldn’t be more disappointed in how Disney treats their underage talent like cash cows.”

“I am standing up and speaking out not only for myself, but for the countless victims across the world who have never been given the opportunity for justice,” she continued. “It is extremely taboo for anyone to speak about sexual abuse, misconduct and exploitation of minors in the ordinarily conservative and genteel South. Over and above decorum, many fear the repercussions of coming forward for example (getting blacklisted from the industry, losing work, having YOUR reputation tarnished). To many victims, coming forward feels shameful. Even though the #metoo movement has been very powerful for many, there is still much work that needs to be done. No one should ever be punished for telling the truth and seeking justice, period.”

Jordan Pruitt is one of many celebs who are speaking out against the new, controversial abortion law in Alabama.

The 27-year-old singer, who has been working on new music, took to Twitter to share her own thoughts on the law, which bans all abortions and makes them a felony with up to 99 years in prison.

“#AlabamaAbortionBan you people are not only taking a step back for women, but our country as a whole. How about lock these rapists away for 99 years? Thanks,” she started out.

“No woman should be punished for something she does with her OWN BODY. I personally know many people who’ve had abortions. I don’t necessarily agree with it, but telling a woman who is RAPED they can’t get an abortion is plain WRONG #BoycottAlabama,” Jordan continued. “Telling a woman that she is going to prison for 99 years if she has an abortion is the sickest thing I’ve ever heard. Our government is SO backwards. Can they focus on things that ACTUALLY matter for once???”

Jordan Pruitt is the voice behind one of JJJ‘s favorite songs of all time, and she just opened up about how she was sexually abused for two years by an unnamed older man when she was a teenager.

In an eye-opening Facebook post, the now 27-year-old songwriter revealed that at the same time she was writing songs like “One Love”, and “Outside Looking In”, she was struggling behind the scenes.

It all started when filming on the “Jump to the Rhythm” music video was happening.

“All I remember is the feeling of being totally isolated from the world,” she wrote. “This man had taken what was supposed to be one of the best experiences of my life, and gave me the worst memory of it. To this day, I won’t watch that video.”

Jordan recalled that she was told her record label wanted her to lose weight, so the man hired a personal trainer for her and began monitoring every inch of her body.

“I do remember having a childish crush. This person was helping make ALL of my dreams come true, and thought I was so talented at every single thing I did,” she continued in her post. “I didn’t think anything was wrong until I felt this pit in my stomach. I KNEW something was wrong. Deep in the inner parts of my soul, I was trapped.”

“At fifteen this person had brainwashed me into thinking that the things that were happening were ‘natural’ and ‘okay.’ For the record, while all of this was happening to me, he was engaged to be married. While I will spare you any of the mind-piercing details, I can honestly and unfortunately say that this man sexually abused me for almost two years of my life. I am a victim of child molestation because of him.”

Jordan Pruitt is sending her love to Demi Lovato.

The 27-year-old singer took to Instagram on Thursday (July 26) to pen a message to the 25-year-old “Sorry Not Sorry” singer after news broke of her report drug overdose.

“LA. You were so bad to me in every way possible when I lived there. You broke my heart, drained my bank account with astronomically priced rent, made me constantly anxious from the every day pressure to fit In. You also helped shape my heart into what it is now,” Jordan writes. “With the recent news of my former tour mate, I feel compelled to say these words. Living in LA is HARDWORK. When I was just shy of 18, I packed my things and moved to Los Angeles. But, as soon as I landed I wanted to leave.”

Jordan goes on to share her own story about the dark and scary side of Hollywood.

“I will tell you about a dark time that I experienced that will give you insight into the pure insanity and chaos that LA can be,” Jordan continues. “Long story short, I ended up being around every single drug possible. I saw a girl who overdosed right in front of me and everyone acted as if this was a normal thing. I got punched in the face by someone on drugs, and even worse things that I can’t even bare to say. I ended up locking myself in this persons bathroom, sleeping in their tub and only coming out once everyone was asleep which was around 6 or 7 IN THE MORNING!!!!”

“No one talks about how isolating it is to be the only person not drinking and not doing drugs. No one talks about how isolating it is to have a lot of friends and no one you can actually trust,” Jordan writes to Demi. “My former tour mate has done an incredible job these last 6 years and In crazy LA no less. I can’t imagine how hard it must be in the spotlight and everyone wanting something from you. I can only pray she is able to find peace in her soul again. I wanted to say this because no one deserves judgement In such a vulnerable time. LA can be such a dark place and I am praying for peace and light and healing.”

Jordan Pruitt is ready to release new music – but she needs your help!

The 27-year-old singer set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money for a 3-4 song EP.

“Ever since I was little, my very first memory was MUSIC,” Jordan writes on her page. “If I wasn’t sitting at the piano, I was playing guitar. If I wasn’t playing guitar, I was writing music.”

Jordan rose to fame with her 2007 debut album No Ordinary Girl, before releasing her second album Permission to Fly in 2008. She released several other songs, but announced in 2017 that she was retiring from music.

But now she wants back in!

“I would love to be able to release the music I’ve since created after the release of my two albums,” Jordan continues. “I am now 27, and writing some of my most authentic music to date.”

Jordan Pruitt is back with the most dreamiest Christmas song ever!

The “One Love” songstress spoke to JJJ recently about the track, which debuted today.

“The inspiration behind ‘Merry Christmas Baby’, actually came from a very dear friend who passed away this year,” Jordan recalled.

“She was obsessed with Christmas and I really wrote this song not only for her, but to keep her spirit alive through a song,” she added.

JP: I think I was most excited about “One Love” coming out. It was a really exciting time in my life personally and professionally and when I think back to performing that song at the Disney Channel Games, all I can think about is MAGIC.
