Danielle Rose Russell Talks How Hope & Klaus' Relationship Will Change For Final Episodes of 'The Originals'

So, we don’t have a new episode of The Originals tonight, which is unfortunate. But, we do have a little more detail about what’s ahead in the final episodes – especially concerning Hope and Klaus.

Danielle Rose Russell opened up in a new interview about how Hope’s life and relationship with Klaus is going to change for the remainder of the season.

“I think that’s something that the fans are going to enjoy a lot, this relationship,” she shared with TV Guide. “She gets to explore with her dad now without limits anymore.”

Danielle continues, “They’re kind of getting to know each other still. They haven’t been in each other’s lives very often and Hope really needs her dad. So, they’re kind of getting to know that dynamic and know each other, but it’s really sweet, the dynamic between Hope and Klaus.”

“It ends up being very family-oriented, the show, kind of towards the last… four episodes that we have left,” she notes. “The dynamic between Hope and Klaus being explored in these next couple episodes I think will really bring a lot of warmth to peoples’ hearts.”

The Originals returns next Wednesday on The CW.

You might be a huge Klaroline shipper and love Haylijah to pieces, but you still have to stop and admit that Klaus’ relationship with Hayley on The Originals had turned into one of the sweetest on television.

During the series last night, after fighting with Hope, Klaus headed to the bayou to carve Hayley’s name into THE tree and while there, gave us all the feels to the point of us crying our eyes out over it.

Klaus admits that while he should’ve been there for her and Hope, he was scared “of this very moment.”

He also confesses his own hopes for Hope, he wants her to live and grow to be “as strong and as beautiful a woman as her mother.”

“I don’t know what to do, and I really wish that you were here to tell me…little wolf.”

Joseph Morgan Opens Up About Hayley's Death on 'The Originals': 'It Made Him Rather Angry'

Hayley’s death on The Originals hit everyone pretty hard, but it’s especially upsetting for Klaus.

Speaking with TV Guide, Joseph Morgan opened up about what’s it’s like to lose her and becoming a single parent now that she’s gone.

“You know, he’d rather grown to like her,” Joseph shared. “I think they, in the beginning, were certainly at odds. They were two people who shared a night together and had a child because of it and would not be in each others’ lives if it weren’t for that child.”

He continues, “They’ve learned to live together to the point where they have become a family — a sort of dysfunctional, strange family, but a family nonetheless, and so losing her was definitely a blow. I think that it’s losing a family member. So yeah, it was very upsetting and made him rather angry, I think.”

As for the future on the series and becoming a single parent to Hope, it’s going to be difficult for him.

“He really feels the weight and responsibility of being the only parent,” Joseph adds. “That’s tremendously difficult for him to deal with. I feel like Hayley’s always been a much better parent than him, and she spent the time — she’s spent the last seven years, while he’s been away, with Hope.”

“For him to come back after such a long absence and then to be thrown into this situation where, ‘Hey it’s just you now with your daughter,’ it’s a very steep learning curve for him. So that’s tremendously upsetting.”

The Originals airs Wednesdays on The CW.

Joseph Morgan Talks About How He Felt After 'The Originals' Was All Wrapped

Joseph Morgan Talks About How He Felt After 'The Originals' Was All Wrapped

We still have a handful of episodes to before we have to say goodbye to The Originals, but for Joseph Morgan, it’s been over for a while.

Speaking with US Weekly, the actor opened up about the emotions he felt when the last scene was wrapped.

“We did one day in New Orleans at the very end and we did a couple of scenes and at the end it was wrapped. We did little speeches and hugs about stuff. It was pretty emotional and then everybody packed up and left,” Joseph recalls.

He adds, “I remember sort of standing there feeling like everyone’s gone. I’m just kind of standing in New Orleans unemployed and alone. I had friends and my wife was with me as well, thank goodness. And some of the cast were with me as well, but you feel like wow. That’s it, it’s done. It’s a joy and a sadness at once, is the only way I can describe it. It’s a plethora of feelings.”

Was there anything in particular he took from the set? You bet!

“The henleys. As many henleys as I could carry,” Joseph jokes. “I sort of took a last look at my dressing room that I’ve been in for five years and you think, ‘Is there anything else I can steal? No, I’ve got it all.’”

However, he did take the “name tag off the door. That’s probably worth something.”

The Originals airs Wednesdays on The CW.

Daniel Gillies & Joseph Morgan Preview Tonight's Elijah-Centric 'Originals' Episode

Daniel Gillies & Joseph Morgan Preview Tonight's Elijah-Centric 'Originals' Episode

Daniel Gillies takes center stage on The Originals tonight, in an Elijah Mikaelson-centric episode.

“He’s a very different being,” the actor recently told TVGuide about how Elijah is without his memories.

Daniel adds that “he’s lost a millennium of information, but he has all of this kind of vampiric muscle memory, in terms of his abilities and what not. He’s discovering who he is.”

Joseph Morgan, who will pop up in certain spots as Klaus, also directed the episode.

“I was excited by the writing itself and then the fact that it wasn’t jumping around between storylines,” he also told TVGuide. “It was just one through line, so it was a chance to really, really invest in the story that we’re telling.

“I felt sort of like I was making a prequel movie about Elijah. So that’s kind of the way we tackled it.”

Joseph continues, “What I wanted to do, because we were on a journey, is travel with Elijah a lot, so there’s a lot of moving shots with him, following him. There’s also a lot of that kind of that gritty, grimy feel of New York that I wanted, as opposed to the beauty of Manosque and the piano bar.”

The Originals airs TONIGHT, May 2nd @ 9PM ET/PT on The CW.

Joseph Morgan & Danielle Rose Russell Talks Hope & Klaus' Reunion on 'The Originals' Tonight

Joseph Morgan & Danielle Rose Russell Talks Hope & Klaus' Reunion on 'The Originals' Tonight

Hope and Klaus are reunited tonight on The Originals – and it’s going to be an awkward reunion.

Both stars – Joseph Morgan and Danielle Rose Russell – opened up about the father/daughter dynamic between the two after having not seen each other for seven long years.

“There’s still some resentment there and a lot of sort of anger and upset there,” Joseph shared with TV Guide of the tense feelings. “She still feels certainly abandoned by her dad, and he feels this tremendous sense of guilt.”

He adds that Klaus “sort of covers for that by telling himself the lie that, ‘She’s better off without me.’ But it becomes quickly apparent that she is not, and she’s going down a path where he needs to step in and help and be a parent… It’s turbulent to say the least, their relationship.”

Danielle spoke with EW about the same situation, telling the glossy that the reunion is “a little emotional.”

“They really begin to navigate their new relationship for the first time in a very long time, and it’s really emotional to do that,” she adds. “If you hadn’t spoken to your father in seven or eight years, or since you were a young child and now you’re a teenager, you’ve changed a lot.”

“I think Hope really has come to terms with who Klaus is, so it’s a really interesting dynamic that this season will begin to explore.”

The Originals airs TONIGHT @ 9PM ET/PT on The CW.

Joseph Morgan Previews Klaroline's Reunion on 'The Originals'

We have only a few more days until the premiere of The Originals – and Joseph Morgan is preparing us for the Klaroline reunion that we’ve all been waiting for.

“It’s not romantic, per se, but we definitely acknowledge the history that they have, and there is an attraction there; a chemistry and understanding between them,” the actor told TVLine in a new video interview about the former couple’s reunion.

Joseph adds, “Candice [King] has done a bunch of episodes and most of them are with me,” he says. “I don’t think she’s filming with anyone else (laughs).”

He also previews that the endgame might not be something all of us love.

“I feel very happy with how it all ends…I’m comfortable with where it ends,” Joseph says. “I don’t think there’s any way that could be satisfactory to everyone…some of you won’t be happy, but some of you will.”

The Originals premieres on Wednesday, April 18th on The CW.
