All movies have read-throughs with the cast members before anything is ever filmed, but for Beauty and the Beast, it was so much more complex than that — and Emma Watson delivered one incredible read-through.
“I don’t even know if you could call it a read-through,” Emma told E! News, “It was all singing, all dancing.”
“Often you do a table read of a script, but this is something much more elaborate,” director Bill Condon agreed. “It was something planned and staged for days.”
There’s one scene in particular during the “read-through” that surprised everyone. Emma stood up and began waltzing during the “Beauty and the Beast” song, giving everyone all of the feels.
Then, Josh Gad (Lefou) said, Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts) went up to the microphone “completely unprompted” to sing “Beauty and the Beast.”
“You could see the goose bumps,” he remembered.

While the Disney Princesses get praised, the Disney Princes are mostly looked over…but not today!
Beauty and the Beast stars Josh Gad and Luke Evans, who star as Le Fou and Gaston in the live action film, sat down with People and debated just who really was the best Disney Prince.
While they don’t really like Prince Florian (Snow White), but do love Prince Eric (Ariel), it’s Prince Philip that leaves an impression.
The one I feel really badly for is the Sleeping Beauty prince [Prince Phillip], because he’s got to fight a dragon — a thorny forest,” Josh explains, before busting out into the “Once Upon A Dream” song that’s featured in Sleeping Beauty.
JJJ Fun Fact: Prince Philip was named after Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh — Queen Elizabeth II’s husband!
Emma Watson wants her character Belle in her upcoming film Beauty and the Beast to put a spotlight on some important issues.
The 26-year-old actress stepped out at a screening of the film on Monday night (March 13) in New York City.
She was joined by Dan Stevens, Josh Gad, Josh Groban, Audra McDonald, Stanley Tucci and Ewan McGregor.
Emma recently opened up about how her character Belle’s love of books holds an important hidden meaning.
“[Books are] so powerful and they have the ability to change your life and your outlook, and this story really speaks to that, the sacred nature of books and their ability to transport you and empower you,” she told Mashable.
Emma added, “We still live in a world where there are probably over 80 million girls who won’t get to go to school just because of their gender.”

Emma Watson sings all of Belle’s classic songs on the soundtrack for the new version of Beauty and the Beast and you can finally stream the full album right now!
The soundtrack is in stores now ahead of the movie’s release next week and you can download the album now on iTunes or stream it below from Spotify.
The deluxe edition of the soundtrack includes Celine Dion‘s version of “How Does a Moment Last Forever,” Ariana Grande and John Legend‘s rendition of the classic “Beauty and the Beast,” and Josh Groban‘s version of the new song “Evermore.”

The 26-year-old actress looked stunning in a eco-friendly beaded gown at the premiere on Monday night (February 27) held at Disneyland in Shanghai, China.
Emma was joined by her co-stars Josh Gad, Luke Evans, Dan Stevens as well as director Bill Condon.
“Had the most wonderful premiere at Disneyland this evening. So excited to be here and thank you for the generous welcome P.S. The Pirates of the Caribbean ride is amazing!” Emma wrote on her Instagram after the premiere.
Beauty and the Beast is set to hit theaters on March 17.
