BTS Open Up About Their Individual Influence on Their Music

BTS Open Up About Their Individual Influence on Their Music

The members of BTS look so handsome on the cover of the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, out on newsstands on Friday (March 29).

Here’s what the hugely popular K-pop boy band had to say…

RM, on their influence in music: “With seven members we have seven different tastes, of course. So when it comes to songwriting, it’s like a big competition.”

J-Hope, on their individual taste: “We’ll write a lyric and decide, ‘This sort of reflects me [more], who I am and my own color,’ so we’ll want to keep that for a solo song.”

RM, on crossing over in America: “You know, Latin pop has its own Grammys in America, and it’s quite different. I don’t want to compare, but I think it’s even harder as an Asian group. A Hot 100 and a Grammy nomination, these are our goals. But they’re just goals—we don’t want to change our identity or our genuineness to get the number one. Like if we sing suddenly in full English, and change all these other things, then that’s not BTS.”

BTS Concert Movie Is Returning to Theaters!

BTS Concert Movie Is Returning to Theaters!

If you missed the BTS film Burn the Stage: The Movie when it was in theaters recently, you’re in luck as it’s coming back to theaters for a limited run!

1,400 movie theaters all around the world will host screenings of the movie on December 5 and 6 and tickets go on sale this Monday, according to Variety.

Burn the Stage: The Movie grossed $14 million in its original run to match One Direction: Where We Are‘s record gross for an event-cinema movie. Now it’s likely to eclipse that total and earn the record.

“We often talk about event cinema uniting fan groups with a cinema experience…and that’s so clearly true in the case of BTS,” CEO Marc Allenby said. “They were selling out shows within minutes of going on sale. [Fans] knew exactly when tickets would be available. There are stories of a group of 300 girls arriving at a cinema in Mexico demanding the manager sell them tickets before they were on sale.”

BTS stops by The Graham Norton Show!

The hugely successful K-Pop group visited the studio on Thursday (October 11) in London, England.

“We are very lucky to live in a time of social media but our sincerity in our music, performance and our ARMY’s love, made it,” RM said during their interview, adding, “Life is full of dilemmas and we always have to have the pain inside. When the light comes we always have the shadows, which we can’t avoid, but we should always find the way to love ourselves, especially the youth, who should be happy and live their life.”

Marking their British TV debut, the guys also performed their single “Idol” from their album Love Yourself: Tear, following their sold-out UK shows.

Jimin unfortunately had to pull out from the appearance due to “severe muscle pain.” (See BigHit Entertainment’s Twitter statement below.)

BTS also just announced that they will be premiering their first feature-length film on November 15! Burn the Stage: the Movie will tell the story behind their 2017 Wings tour. Find out more here.
