Jaden Smith is straight out of the 1970s in a new photo from his Netflix mini-series The Get Down, shot by Annie Leibovitz for Vogue.
The 17-year-old model and actor is one of the stars of the upcoming Baz Luhrmann-directed series, which goes back to the roots of hip-hop in the late 70s in the Bronx.

Jaden plays a graffiti writer named Dizzee in 13-episode series and joins a cast including Tremaine Brown Jr., Justice Smith, Shameik Moore, and Skylan Brooks. Several actors, including Tremaine, were picked out of obscurity, some coming from the Bronx themselves.
The Get Down is set to premiere on August 12 on Netflix.
Nat Wolff suits up alongside co-star Cara Delevingne for a special screening of their new movie Paper Towns on Saturday evening (July 18) in West Hollywood, Calif.
The on-screen couple was joined by the rest of the cast – Halston Sage, Austin Abrams, Justice Smith, and Jaz Sinclair – as well as the author of the novel, John Green.
Also in attendance were Nat‘s brother Alex and Awkward actor Nolan Gerard Funk.
Later that night, Cara and Nat made their way to The Nice Guy restaurant with friends.

Good news, Paper Towns fans!
It was just announced that star Nat Wolff, actor Justice Smith, screenwriter Michael H. Weber, and scorer Ryan Lott will be joining author John Green at the panel at 2015 BookCon on May 30/31 in New York City.
During the panel, they will be premiering several clips from the upcoming movie, which hits theaters on July 24! Adapted from the bestselling novel, Paper Towns is a coming-of-age story centering on Quentin and his enigmatic neighbor Margo, who loved mysteries so much she became one.
Amazing news – the Paper Towns cast is filling itself out nicely!
Halston Sage, Justice Smith, and Austin Abrams have officially landed the roles of Lacey, Radar, and Ben in the upcoming film adaptation of John Green‘s popular novel.
“Thrilled that @halstonsage will be Lacey in the #PaperTownsMovie. Such a smart and talented actress, and a big fan of the book,” John tweeted. “I don’t know if Justice Smith has a twitter, but he is going to be Radar in Paper Towns, and I AM VERY EXCITED. #GetJusticeOnTwitter”
