We are getting a little glimpse into the upcoming first episodes of Gossip Girl!

Director Karena Evans marked the wrap of filming on the first two episodes, a little late, she admits.

“Belated but still elated. That’s a wrap on episodes 1 & 2. Heading into the edit with the same butterflies I started with. The journey continues @joshsafran xoxo, Gossip Girl,” she wrote on Instagram.

Karena, who is directing the inaugural episodes, shared some behind-the-scenes photos and even a video of Whitney Peak and Jordan Alexander jamming out in the back seat of a car. Check it out below!

“🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 you are such an indescribably powerful force. Truly blessed ✨🙌🏾♥️,” Jordan commented.

“Such a beautiful presence on set 💞♥️,” Savannah Smith wrote.

“I can’t go on without you ❤️,” Zion Moreno also commented on the post.

Josh Safran has found a perfect partner in Karena to illustrate how the landscape of social media, the upper east side and the world have changed since Gossip Girl premiered 13 years ago,” Sarah Aubrey, head of original content, HBO Max, previously said in a statement. “Additionally, her passion for inclusive storytelling matches Josh’s and we are proud to have her on this journey with us.”

“I couldn’t be more excited for Karena to launch the new series,” showrunner Joshua Safran also said. “Her vision, voice, and passion are incomparable. It’s an honor and a privilege to get to work with her, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what she has planned.”
