It has just been revealed that the CW prequel series, set in the 1800s, has officially been canceled after just one season on the network, Varietyreports.
Unfortunately, this news was expected as it was a new show and the network is only looking to keep a few shows.
The cast of The CW‘s upcoming Walker prequel Walker Independence step out for the CW Upfronts presentation on Thursday morning (May 19) in New York City.
The drama pilot is based off of the John Mayer song of the same name and “follows two sets of adult siblings from wildly different worlds who discover they’re related and must reassess everything they thought they knew about their shared father. As they explore the mystery of their separate childhoods, they’ll experience the difficulty in overcoming the sins of the past, and learn the joys of reuniting with long-lost family.”
Harry and Katie are no strangers to the Disney/ABC family. Harry can currently be seen on the final episodes of Shadowhunters on Freeform, while Katie had a recurring role on ABC’s How To Get Away With Murder. She could also be more recognizable from her role in The CW’s The Carrie Diaries.
The two actresses will be starring as Sandy and Rizzo on the stage production, which opens in November.
Speaking about their favorite songs from the musical, Janel said she had two.
“For me, ‘You’re the One That I Want’…I’m so excited to perform that. But, one of my favorite songs from the entire musical is your song,” she shared, pointing to Katie. “‘There are Worse Things I Could Do’…I love that song.”
Katie admits that for her, she’s “weirdly into ‘Raining on Prom Night’”.

Janel is also pictured out with Grease director Josh Prince at STK Steakhouse on the last weekend of TIFF.
Via Variety, the 25-year-old actress, who you know from The Carrie Diaries and How To Get Away With Murder, will star as Hannah Cooper in the upcoming 12-episode series, which will premiere on go90 later this year.
The series tracks one year of the characters’ lives and centers on Hannah Cooper, an aspiring musician who goes in search of a missing friend who has disappeared in Berlin. Cooper goes there to search for answers and finds herself drawn into her missing friend’s inner circle and the seductive, kinetic Berlin club scene where music is everything and sex and drugs are as vital as water.
Hooray! This is why I've been in Montreal! Working with some singularly excellent people, too. https://t.co/0AHu8Lt95u
The show picked up the award for Outstanding Drama Series and the star Viola Davis, who was absent from the awards ceremony, won Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series.
