Netflix is getting a new musical!

The streaming service has acquired the rights for A Week Away, starring Kevin Quinn and Bailee Madison, Deadline reports.

The faith based musical centers on Will Hawkins (Quinn), a troubled teen who has a run-in with the law that puts him at an important crossroad: go to juvenile detention or attend a Christian summer camp.

At first a fish-out-of-water, Will opens his heart, discovers love with a camp regular (Madison), and a sense of belonging in the last place he expected to find it.

The film also stars Sherri Shepherd, David Koechner, Jahbril Cook, Kat Conner Sterling, and Iain Tucker.

No release date has been set yet.

Kevin Quinn has released his new EP Edge of the World!

The Bunk’d and Adventures in Babysitting star shared his five-track project with fans on Friday (March 13).

That same day, Kevin wrote on Instagram, “Hi everyone, I wanted to take the time to inform you all about 2 recent developments. Firstly, the @winterjamtour has officially been cancelled. Although I am so bummed that we couldn’t play the last 10 shows, I want to thank each and every one of you, as well as the incredibly dedicated crew, and countless other talented artists I joined on the road. I truly believe God blessed me with the Winterjam tour opportunity, and I’ll never take that for granted. I found a home in that stage, made lifelong friends, and strengthened my relationship with Him, all via His grace and love.

“Additionally, one of my most favorite parts about tour was getting to meet all of YOU – my fans,” he continued. “Every show would have been impossible without your constant love and support, which you give so effortlessly, and meeting you all was one of the best things about tour. Your legitimately crazy energy elevated me every night, and I am so grateful for all of you. I promise this won’t be the last time we meet again in your city… ;) Anyway, this all leads me to my second development, which is a bit more positive.”

“To compensate for the cancelled tour dates, I have a bit of a surprise for you all…my debut album Edge Of The World will be coming out TONIGHT!! AT MIDNIGHT!!” he added. “I’m so excited to share this piece of me with you all, especially considering it’s been a long time in the making. So listen to it while you’re driving, at parties, or even at night in bed with your eyes closed and you’re feeling sad. Regardless, I hope the songs reach your souls. Much love to you all, always. Kev.”

Kevin Quinn just dropped a new song and it’s perfect for Valentine’s Day!

The 22-year-old musician and actor debuted his new single “Keeping Me Up,” which is all about the excitement of a new relationship.

“‘Keeping Me Up’ is the perfect track for Valentine’s Day. With an unapologetic 80’s pop rock vibe, and thoughtful lyrics about the excitement of newfound love, I envision it becoming a go-to for Friday nights out, or car rides with friends. It’s just such a ‘feel good’ song,” Kevin told JJJ.

In addition to celebrating his new song, Kevin will also be celebrating V-Day with his girlfriend Kalbe!

“For the first time in a long time, I have Valentine’s Day plans that I’m really excited about. My girlfriend Kalbe and I are making lots of plans – everything from travel to couple’s massages. I’m thrilled that we have finally met and can now share life’s moments together. This Valentine’s Day will be our way of celebrating that fact,” Kevin added.

Kevin Quinn is in the middle of WinterJam tour and it sounds like it’s been an amazing experience!

The 22-year-old musician and actor gave JJJ an inside look at life on the road by sharing some behind-the-scenes photos as well as some insider info.

“It’s such a cool experience being on the road. The scope of WinterJam was beyond what I could’ve expected. I had known it was an arena show, and that the crowds would be massive, but what I didn’t expect was how crazy people would go over my set,” Kevin told JJJ.

While Kevin has gotten a great on-stage reception, he has faced some challenges on tour.

Kevin explained, “The most challenging point on tour was our first show. With a limited amount of rehearsal time, and lots of music and dancing to remember, we knew our very first night would prove the most difficult. Obviously at the beginning of an elaborate arena tour like WinterJam, the technicians and stage managers are getting used to the show as much as we are. I remember the first night in Jacksonville, we actually lost all of the music track in our ear monitors, so we were singing off of memory with a microphone delay ringing throughout the arena. I was really proud of our ability to bounce back, and my stage partner Brooke Deleary and I somehow pulled through. It was tough, but the show must go on!”

The 22-year-old actor stars with Kristin in the upcoming Hallmark Channel movie, which will premiere on Saturday, December 7th.

The movie centers on youth choir director Katherine, who discovers Danny, who has a golden voice and enlists him for the big Christmas Eve show, despite his widowed father Greg’s resistance.

While she is successful at winning over Greg, Danny has a secret which affects both his father and Katherine’s relationship.

Bailee Madison is putting on her dancing shoes!

The 19-year-old actress will be starring in a new, original musical called A Week Away alongside Kevin Quinn, Sherri Shepherd and David Koechner.

A Week Away centers on Will Hawkins (Quinn), a troubled teenager whose recent run-in with the law puts him at an important crossroads; go to juvenile hall or attend a Christian summer camp. At first a fish-out-of-water, Will eventually opens his heart and discovers a love and sense of belonging in the last place he expected to find it.

“We have assembled an incredible group of industry talent who have poured their heart into bringing to life what will be the first faith and family musical,” producer Steve Barnett said in a statement. “There has never been a better time for this film and we are proud of what this team has achieved.”

Not only is Bailee starring in the film, she’s also serving as an associate producer!

The new musical, which just began production in Nashville, Tenn., will feature some of the greatest Christians songs by artists such as Amy Grant, For King and Country, Michael W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman.
