Laura Carmichael heads out of the ITV Studios after her appearance on Lorraine in London, England on Wednesday morning (June 10)
The 28-year-old Downton Abbey star spoke of the show and a possible feature film before opening up about the Up For School campaign, which calls on world leaders to back a fund to ensure children trapped in emergencies do not miss out on education.
“I met children who have had everything taken from them because of the conflict raging in their country,” Laura shared. “They have left their homes and schools and are separated from friends and families. I spoke to mothers who were scared for their children’s future, desperate for them to have an education to give them freedom to rebuild their lives.”
Laura just recently returned from a trip to Lebanon where thousands of Syrian children are out of school. Check out pics from her visit below!

“It will be funny when the each character is finished, and they say, ‘And that’s the last of Mrs. Patmore or whatever’” Julian said (via THR) about the show’s final season. “That’s always a strange moment � even on an ordinary movie or one-off job — when people who have been all through it start to peel away.”

Sophie McShera and Laura Carmichael step out in style while attending the Downton Abbey Ball held at The Savoy Hotel on Thursday (April 30) in London, England.
The ladies were joined on the carpet by their co-stars Jim Carter, Matt Barber, Lesley Nicol, Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Allen Leech, Samantha Bond, Phyllis Logan, and Rob James-Collier.
Also in attendance that night was Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
All proceeds from the event went to Centrepoint, which works to give homeless young people a future.

The 28-year-old actress, who stars as Lady Edith on the period drama, joined her other co-stars the day before as well in Oxford.
Rumor has it that Downton Abbey will end after season six!
According to TVLine, the cast’s contracts expire at the end of the current filming season and they’re ready to move on.
“You can keep the show going without Matthew and Sybil, but you can’t continue it without the entire Crawley family,” a source shared.
