Fans are worried about YouTube star Lia Marie Johnson after she acted erractically during a live stream on Instagram.
The 23-year-old social star went live on Instagram in the early morning hours of Thursday (January 2) and the cops were eventually called by concerned fans, according to reports.
Lia was seen kissing a man out of the frame while loud music blasted in the background. When the man realized she was streaming, he was heard saying, “Are you on Instagram? No, you’re not – you can’t be on Instagram. Are you really on Instagram? Because that would be bad.”
The mystery man, who some are saying is her producer, took the phone and turned off the stream, but she went live again. The man was heard saying the stream needed to be turned off “because it will affect my work. Please, turn it off.”
Fans decided to call the cops at this point and Lia was eventually visited by the police.
“The cops showed up and detained me, put cuffs on my hands,” Lia later said while live streaming again. “So, I would really appreciate it if everyone …stopped worrying so much. There’s no reason to worry, I’m okay. I just want to be left alone.”
For those that don’t know, Lia got her start on the Kids React series and she later appeared in spin-offs Teens React and YouTubers React. Her fame led her to work with the AwesomenessTV team and she starred in several movies and web-series.
I may not understand exactly how you’re feeling, but you’re not alone. You are so important. You aren’t weak or defective to me. There is hope for you to get the happiness and love you deserve. I am here forever and always. No matter how long it takes.❤️@LiaMarieJohnsonpic.twitter.com/GSjEzrs54M
The 21-year-old singer and internet personality released “Champagne“, her first solo track in over a year, since “Cold Heart Killer” in March 2017.
“thank you all for being patient and sticking by me 😭,” she wrote earlier in the week ahead of the release. “Lmk what you think with #champagne, I’ll be looking at every one! 🥂”
Lia Marie previously dropped a track called “The Wave” back in February with R3hab.
Lia Marie Johnson writes the lyrics of “Cold Heart Killer” on her knee in her brand new video for the song.
The visual was shot by director Sarah Bahbah, and filmed entirely on a Super 8 camera with only one chance to shoot every take. The track will appear on her upcoming EP, set to debut later this year.
“‘Cold Heart Killer’ represents that dreamy and sultry feeling of craving someone who you’ve held onto for too long, thinking they could’ve been something more,” Lia shared about the song.
She adds about the video, “Filming the lyric video kind of tied up all of those feelings into one visual to show what it’s like to be with someone else to take your mind off them, feeling high and finding love for yourself again.”
Lia Marie Johnson – Cold Heart Killer (Lyric Video)
“‘Cold Heart Killer’ represents that particular kind of internal conflict you feel when you’re craving a person you know you shouldn’t,” Lia shared about the song’s inspiration.
The singer, who made her fame on YouTube, bravely opens up about the physical and emotional abuse she and her family suffered at the hands of her father.
“I was at a really hard place in my life when I wrote ‘DNA’,” says Lia. “It was my first time working with Howard, Lenny and Sidnie and as we got to know each other they started asking about my life. When they asked about my family, I started getting really emotional, and at the end of explaining my life story I said, ‘but I guess you can’t stop DNA,’ we all looked at each other and everything clicked. We got so excited and started writing immediately.”
Though the official video came out in October, Lia just released this beautiful new lyric video, which focuses on her acoustic performance atop the Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood.
Lia Marie Johnson just debuted her new music video for “DNA” and it touches on a very real subject — domestic abuse.
In the video, inspired by her own life experiences, Lia flashes back to her younger self and remembering her father abusing then leaving her mother before we see her in the exact same situation with her partner.
“Conveying the real events that took place would’ve probably been too dark for a music video,” Lia shared with V magazine about the visual. “I still wanted to tell the story but I wanted it to be artistic and also connect with as many people as possible.”
George Janko, Brittany Furlan, Marcel Nahapetian, Callan Potter, Eliana Jones, Miles Elliot, Laura Herring, Michael Gallagher, Matthew Glave, Michael Wormser, Jana Winternitz, Steve Greene, Patrick O’Sullivan, Steven Cox, and Robert Grant were also pictured at the event.
