“I would kinda be a little bit of a jerk while working with him. I’m not sure I made a great first impression,” Logan said. “But after filming, we became friends. I learned a lot from him. He’s a great guy.”
Logan Lerman lets director James Schamus recall a funny moment on the Indignation set during their appearance at AOL Build Series in New York City on Tuesday (July 26).
The 24-year-old actor opened up about his new film, and in an additional interview with Collider, revealed his big dream on directing.
“It’s my passion, that’s what I wanna do, it’s the end goal, that’s what I crave every second of the day is to be working on a production but also to be the person leading the production and guiding the pacing of the storytelling,” he shared. “It’s nothing I’m trying to rush into. I’m trying to find who I am and define my filmmaking choices. It’s something that I take seriously.”
Logan added, “I think that it’s a reflection of I mean what you choose to do professionally is a reflection of yourself and I take that seriously as an actor. But even as a filmmaker, I take it even more seriously. In that first film that I do, I really want it to be the right one in a really well-thought out decision. So that is the end goal for me, that’s what I really want to do.”

Based on Philip Roth‘s late novel, Indignation takes place in 1951, as Marcus Messner (Lerman), a brilliant working class Jewish boy from Newark, New Jersey, travels on scholarship to a small, conservative college in Ohio, thus exempting him from being drafted into the Korean War.
But once there, Marcus’s growing infatuation with his beautiful classmate Olivia Hutton (Gadon), and his clashes with the college’s imposing Dean, Hawes Caudwell (Tracy Letts), put his and his family’s best laid plans to the ultimate test.
