Luke Baines has one goal in mind with playing Jonathan Morgenstern on Shadowhunters.

The 28-year-old actor opened up in new issue of Grumpy magazine about the number one reason he joined the series and how fans will come to understand what Jonathan does what he does.

“It was always a dream to work on a show like this to be honest. I think that a lot of people have a very specific idea of who Jonathan is, because of the things that he does, and how he presents himself. But there is so much more there,” Luke says. “I was so interested to be able to unpick that, and look at what makes someone do the things that he does.”

Luke continues that over the final episodes, “people are gonna be able to understand Jonathan a lot more. You may not like him still, you may hate him which is understandable because of the things that he has done and the things he does do.”

“I do think that at the end of the series, you’ll be able to understand him more, and if people can do that, then I’ll be really happy, I’ll be pleased with the work I did.”

Shadowhunters airs Mondays on Freeform.

Khalid gets support from Katherine McNamara and Luke Baines at his Spotify x Khalid Fans First concert!

The “Better” crooner flashed a grin at the event, held at The Row in honor of his forthcoming album Free Spirit, on Tuesday night (March 26) in Downtown Los Angeles.

At the event, 300 of Khalid’s top Spotify fans in Los Angeles (those who stream him the most on the platform) were fully immersed in his unique world and virtually taken through the personal journey that resulted in the creation of Free Spirit.

Khalid surprised the crowd with a live performance of songs from his debut album, American Teen, and new tracks from Free Spirit, out April 5.

Shadowhunters‘ Katherine McNamara and Luke Baines, Now Apocalypse‘s Kelli Berglund, her boyfriend Tyler Wilson, and YouTuber Eva Gutowski were all there to show their support, dancing and singing emphatically to Khalid’s energetic show.

The official setlist included “8Teen,” “Winter,” “Coaster,” “Sad love,” “Saved,” “East Side/Shot down,” “Angels,” YBD,” “Better,” “Talk,” “Silence/Love lies,” “Location,” and “OTW.”

Beyond the concert, fans were able to experience the album conceptually through various immersive activations such as designing t-shirts with custom branded patches and taking selfies in the Free Spirit branded photo booth inspired by Visual Artist, Music Producer, and Fashion Designer Gianni Lee.

Katherine McNamara and Luke Baines step out in style for the UNIQLO 2019 Collections Celebration!

The Shadowhunters co-stars attended the event held at Smogshoppe on Thursday (March 7) in Los Angeles.

Katherine donned a pretty green and pink printed jacket with floral and bird designs, and Luke wore a striped blue and white shirt with a dark blue jacket and colorful sneakers.

The duo was joined by The Umbrella Academy‘s Ashley Madekwe, The Walking Dead‘s Alanna Masterson, Dumplin‘s Georgie Flores, model Myles O’Neal, and Dylan Brosnan.

UNIQLO celebrated the launch of their Spring/Summer 2019 collections featuring designer collaborations by JW Anderson and Hana Tajima. Attendees mingled in the lush outdoor courtyard and browsed through the newest styles while dining al fresco on light bites from DTLA Charcuterie.

The collection is now available online and in select stores.

Is everyone else going back to dissect the premiere of Shadowhunters like we are?

After the premiere, showrunners Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer opened up about the physical bond Clary and Jonathan now have, thanks to Lilith’s demonic rune which has bound them to one another – forever.

“His affection and love for her is genuine. He has no ill feelings toward her,” Darren shared about the siblings’ relationship with TVLine.

Todd added, “You will really come to love and understand him, like you do all the great villains, like you did with Lilith last season. So even though Jonathan does despicable things and a lot of his actions are cuckoo-bananas crazy, you’ll grow to understand him.

But will Jonathan sway Clary to the dark side? Possibly.

“It wasn’t something that he planned. But now that it’s happening, he’s going to take full advantage of it,” Darren says. “We’ll find out more about the mechanics of that, and the origins of their bond, in future episodes.”

The Maze Runner: The Death Cure actress stepped out for the event, presented by Snapchat, at Los Angeles Theatre on Friday (February 15) in Los Angeles.

She paired her sequin dress with strappy black heels and pink lipstick, styling her hair into curls.

Katherine McNamara and Luke Baines rep Shadowhunters at the InStyle and Motown Records Badass Women Event!

The Maze Runner: The Death Cure actress and the Under the Silver Lake actor teamed up for the fun night – hosted by Ethiopia Habtemariam and Laura Brown, and sponsored by Fiji Water, Lyft and John Hardy – at Hyde Lounge on Friday (February 8) in West Hollywood, Calif.

Katherine snapped a pic inside with Kaitlyn Dever.

Katherine went business chic in a plunging black suit and pumps, along with red lipstick, silver jewelry, and a sleek hairdo. Luke looked sharp in a black and white outfit with a dark orange coat.

It was a HUGE night for Shadowhunters at the 2018 Peoples’ Choice Awards!

The fan favorite show won four awards, including Show of 2018, at the event on Sunday night (November 11) at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif.

Katherine McNamara won for Female TV Star of 2018, Harry Shum Jr. won for Male TV Star of 2018, and the show also picked up Bingeworthy Show of 2018.

Kat, Harry, Dominic Sherwood, Alberto Rosende, Emeraude Toubia, Isaiah Mustafa, Alisha Wainwright, and Luke Baines all represented the show at the event.
