The two singers announced the big news earlier this week for The Dramatic Tour.
The string of dates will start on October 3rd and wrap at the end of that same month. Tickets to see Ingrid and Maddie on tour, plus a limited number of exclusive VIP packages, are available now at IngridMichaelson.com.
“I’d seen Ingrid live in concert on her ‘A Summer Night Out’ tour in 2015, and it was nothing short of incredible,” Maddie recalled of Ingrid in a statement. “When my music managers called me with the idea that I might be able to join her as the opener for her upcoming tour, my fourteen-year-old self would never have believed that an opportunity like this was possible.”
She added, “I couldn’t imagine a better, more desirable or more exciting tour to be a part of. Ingrid truly has paved the way for so many aspiring artists and joining her on ‘The Dramatic Tour’ will be a tremendous opportunity to meet fans and be nothing short of a dream come true.”

The 21-year-old musician talked about her debut album Whirlwind, and her American Idol audition.
Maddie revealed that when she auditioned in front of the celebrity judges and got her golden ticket, host Ryan Seacrest was not there waiting outside the door.
“After I left the room, Ryan Seacrest wasn’t there, so they called me back over about five hours later, after the emotions like, I’m not on top of the world. They’re like, ‘Hey, we need you to act this out again. We need you to act like you just got this golden ticket because Ryan’s back.’”
He’s so busy. He’s all over the world and he’s never in a bad mood. I don’t know how he does it,” she continued. “I came out, and this was my first time meeting Ryan Seacrest and they’re like, ‘Okay, fake it. Act like you just got this ticket.’ I am so awkward, I can’t fake that. I came out, and I just remember being so corny… My mom and dad were like, ‘That was terrible, I hope they don’t use that take.’”
Maddie Poppe has opened up about her experience auditioning for The Voice, and now, she’s reflecting on how it taught her to never give up on her dreams.
The 21-year-old past American Idol winner took to her Instagram Stories after coming across the song that was picked for her for the audition.
“I didn’t sing well and felt really uncomfortable, didn’t get a chair to turn, was shown on national television and thought that was the end of my career,” Maddie confessed. “It was so embarrassing and as I watched everyone else dominate on that show, I thought I could never measure up to compete on a platform like that.”
She adds that the experience helped her persevere and keep going, too.
“My point is, you never ever know when you ‘YES’ is coming. I thought that was the end for me. Didn’t ever think I’d get another chance. Never ever give up,. You’ll hear 100 ‘no’s before you get that yes, but if you never give up, no doubt you’ll get it some day.”
When former winner Maddie Poppe made an appearance during the American Idol finale on Sunday night (May 19), you may not have realized that this was actually a pretty big deal after what’s been happening recently.
There have reportedly been some issues between Maddie and the show after her appearance on the Disney-themed episode back in April.
Maddie and her boyfriend, fellow season 16 finalist Caleb Lee Hutchinson, performed a brief duet of “A Whole New World” and the show failed to mention that her debut album Whirlwind was set to be released on May 17.
A week later, Maddie tweeted her frustration when no mention of the album was made during the next episode either. She wrote, “Was waiting for ‘ALSO from last week, our season 16 winner has an album coming out May 17th’….”
Maddie later added, “Unfortunately, I won’t be returning to perform for the finale.”
To add fuel to the fire, the next week, third place finalist Gabby Barrett performed her new single on the show and was given time to plug her new record deal with Warner Brothers Nashville.
While Maddie ended up appearing on the Idol finale, Variety reports that she was “devastated” that she wasn’t given a chance to perform her own song on the show.

Maddie Poppe‘s debut album Whirlwind is finally here!
The 21-year-old American Idol winner recently opened up about finally releasing her album and dished on songs about boyfriend Caleb Lee Hutchison.
“It’s really exciting. I think I started to find my sound more along the way of making it,” she told USA Today. “It was really inside the whole Americana/folk (genre) at first, but then I got experience writing different songs, stepped out of my comfort zone and found things I enjoyed even more.”
“‘Take It Out on You,’ ‘Not Losing You,’ and there’s a couple references to him in ‘Postcards from Me,’” Maddie said about which songs are about Caleb. “You know, I had a short amount of time –about two months – to write about my feelings. I tried to write about other things, but the only things that were on my mind were my relationship and also just my lifestyle this past year, how it’s been really crazy and hectic. I think the best songs come when your emotions are high and you can really feel it.”
The 21-year-old singer revealed the artwork for Whirlwind on her Instagram account, just a few moments after returning to the American Idol stage over the weekend with boyfriend Caleb Lee Hutchinson.

“Almost a year ago I had painted Maddie in honor of her American idol win. And now, I get to reveal why I’ve been so quiet on this account,” Dylan wrote about the reveal. “On May 17th, the album Whirlwind by @maddiepoppe comes out!”
He added, “This is so crazy. At 16 years old I’m already living my dream. Thank you Maddie for everything! Stay tuned for more news!”

Maddie Poppe has dropped her brand-new song “Made You Miss!”
The singer and season 16 winner of American Idol shared the track with fans on Thursday (March 28).
“It’s finally here!” she wrote on Instagram. “So excited to share with you ‘Made You Miss’! I’ve been so anxious to release this song and I hope you all enjoy listening as much as I did recording it! Very grateful to have worked with the best of the best on this one. Written by: Johan Carlsson, Ross Golan and Sam Romans & produced by: Johan Carlsson. Can’t believe I get the opportunity to work with people so talented and well-respected in this industry, I can only hope it’s just the beginning!”
“The morning of my last day in LA, I walked into the studio not knowing what to expect,” she continued. “I felt like I was out of ideas and didn’t know what we could REALLY get accomplished in one day. Well, my expectations were exceeded greatly when I walked in and heard this song. Johan Carlsson, Ross Golan and Sam Roman had written ‘Made You Miss’ a while back but hadn’t cut it with anyone yet, so we decided we’d give it a shot! This is a very special song to me because it came just as I was finishing up the album, and once I heard it, I knew it must be the icing on the cake. I’m really proud of this one! I had so much fun recording and working with these incredibly talented and successful guys, and it’s such an honor that I get to call this my song. Thanks for all the love and positive responses!”
